Just perfect for my twins
My twins are at the age where they find balls so interesting. They can play with one for hours, it seems like. I was in the market for a sturdy ball that could hold the weight of them laying on the ball and jumping onto the ball. I also wanted to find a ball that was soft enough to not hurt so much when one twin would throw the ball at the other twins' head. The Gertie ball seems to fit the bill. We can inflate the ball as much or as little as we like. The balls are soft, yet tough for little ones who rather chew or lay on the ball. The most important part is that the kids love them. They sit and giggle at each other when one throws the ball or when they bounce the ball-- it has a very good bounce by the way. I received two of the same color (green) as other reviewers mentioned. I would rather have two different colors so that way they do not fight over the same ball. Either way, it's a good, simple, quality toy that will have years of use out of it.

Gertie Balls in a Class Of Their Own: Amazing!
Gertie balls are an amazing invention. They inflate with a straw, are sturdy for play with young children, easy to catch and hold due to materials used, and don’t hurt others when thrown poorly.I used to take them on trips as they pack in a suitcase and work well in a pool. They are so much better than a beach ball, as they can be thrown with easy grip, and can be great for catch. They travel in the air accurately. Now I buy them for my grandchildren and for my friends grandchildren. Yes they are worth the money!

Great ball you can start to use with an infant
This ball is wonderful. I purchased it for my daughter when she was an infant to help her in her development. Basically you inflate it about 3/4 of the way and that then let your little one lay on top of it. It teaches them how to get into crawling position and helps them work their core muscles (which they will need when they start moving on their own). Now that she is a bit older I've inflated the ball the whole way and we roll it around back and forth. The material makes it easy for her to grasp and its soft. I haven't worried about the plug part being a swallowing issue because its quite big and she hasn't thought to take it out of the ball yet. That being said, I supervise her while she plays with this toy.

Therapy Ball - pink
I bought this ball for my daughter to use with her patients. It loses a little air when filling it since you have to take out the straw to insert the plug, but it’s still tight enough to play with and even bounce. I’d have given it 5 stars if you were able to choose a color. I was really hoping for green, blue, or purple. My daughter loves pink for herself but this is to use with young boys and girls and the other colors just seem more suitable.

Misrepresented-No flashing lights
I bought three of these for my grandkids. None of them had flashing lights.

Just the thing
Cool balls, easy to blow up, play with, deflate, carry around.I am a Trager(R) Approach practitioner, and I use the balls in movement education, mostly with adults. The balls are sturdy, just the right size and easy to blow up and deflate before and after classes. I carry them to and from classes, and blow up several balls, use them as cushions, support for the body in different positions. We do silly things with them that get the body moving out of its narrow patterned ways. We laugh and have a good time with them, so my clients don't even realize how or why they got to a point of moving more freely and easily. They are just the ticket for what I do.

Great fun, but includes choking hazard
The ball is great and lots of fun. I bought it because it would pack flat and I was looking for toys to entertain my 10-month old in a hotel room---his grandmother was taking care of him while I was at a business conference. He had a lot of fun with this ball, but ONE major problem we encountered is that a baby with teeth can pull the plug out. My mom saw that my son had something in his mouth within a few minutes of giving him the ball and we realized he'd pulled the plug out. Scary! I will save this until he is older.
