SweetPea3R Mini-Tablet AudioVideo Player for Kids with Android (Blue)

My wife got this for my daughter as a Christmas present. She asked me about it after the fact, and after reading the reviews, I wasn't expecting much. Here's my perspective:The first thing to realize about this device is that it is a tiny Android tablet wrapped in a plastic bubble. The Android version on our SweetPea3R is listed as 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean) which according to Wikipedia, was released 2/11/2013. Most importantly, Google Play is installed and allowed for installing other apps.The Software:The default launcher and music player was unusable. It crashed often and never figured out how to view the music library through it. I uninstalled it, then installed VLC from the Google Play Store. As soon as you uninstall the branded launcher/player, you might feel some nostalgia remember the Android phone you owned five years ago. The SweetPea3R interface outside of the launcher is just a basic Jelly Bean interface. I found that once the branded app was uninstalled, the device became much more stable.The Device:The built-in speaker is louder than I expected, but audio quality isn't great. The SweetPea3R has Bluetooth and worked just fine connecting to a Bluetooth speaker. When my wife first tried connecting it to her computer to add music, she couldn't get the device mounted in her computer. She is an iPhone user, so isn't used to using the Android USB mass storage settings where you swipe down on the menu to select "USB Connected" -> "Turn on USB storage".To summarize, this device works very well for the price, as long as you get rid of the pre-installed launcher and go with something more stable and usable on the Google Play Store. If you are looking for a player that doesn't require a little initial parental tech support and setup, it might be best to keep looking.

We bought this product for our son who has special needs. He LOVES music and we needed a product that is durable and easy for him to use. Our son loves his "sweet pea" and takes it everywhere! The music function is the only portion of the device that we are actively using and it works well. The only aspect keeping me from giving this product 5 stars is the fact that I found it very frustrating to program/download music. Also, I highly recommend purchasing the accident protection plan - we are on our second device as my son accidentally dropped the first, cracking the glass. The protection enabled us to order a new one on Amazon within a few days of sending in the claim.

Great price! But the left side of the screen doesn't touch so it makes some apps difficult to operate. Also it's not easy for my 3 yr old to start up on his own. I always have put it in the right mode and put in the password...every time

cheap and barely works, but was basically what i wanted for a ridiculously good price. I wanted a Pandora radio for my kids for nighttime, and that's basically all we use it for. It is super slow, but functions ok.

Bought this for my grandkids. Although software startup was often flukey, I managed to load it with music and family videos. Worked for a couple months, then the UP volume button stopped working. The volume then would only go down (to zero) and item became useless.

Bought this for my 1.5 year old nephew and it's great very durable. Only bad thing is the touch screen doesn't always work correctly. But it works well enough for his music!

The processor has been so slow I have not been able to use any apps downloaded from the play store. I am returning this item.

Device kept freezing and the volume button broke after less than a week of use. Only giving 2 stars because customer service responded quickly and refunded the product.
