Indigo, This is a Two-thumbs Up Winner!
I love this product! I've looked at and used a variety of mounting plates, thinking that it would be "the one" and I wouldn't have to find another. Each time, however, I've run up against obstacles because they will not work with my particular strap/carry system, which is a DIY that I rigged for my trip to Ireland and Wales. This one, however, makes all the difference because of how the plate screw is designed: it's a stepped screw that allows me to attach a narrow strap to an inner ring without hampering the main purpose of the screw, which is to secure it safely to a tripod. Thus, I'm not concerned about the screw not being properly tightened on the tripod mount. I also love the quality: definitely not cheap, which so many mounting plates I've tried are. And the adjustable hinge is really what sold me on this. For me, it serves as a double backup system for my strap/carry option, so that I never lose control of the camera itself. Thanks for such a great, well-designed product!

Recommend for use with Canon EOS DSLR
This is a very handy mounting plate. I connected mine to a Canon EOS 20D (with a little locktite for added security) and it clips to and hangs nicely from my camera sling. I've screwed my mefoto tripod quick release plate to Indigo Marble. The real benefit, in my opinion, is that I can go from handheld to tripod and back again without removing or adding anything. I should add that the battery door at the bottom of the camera grip is unobstructed. The hinge allows the camera and lens to hang a little closer to my body; my original setup pushed the lens outward where it was likelier to bang into something. The Marble feels solid, like something that will last.

Excellent choice, best strap connector I have tried.
The plate is excellent, and after using it for a about 6 weeks, I feel confident reviewing the item. The base is solidly built, and connects to the camera firmly. Because a strap connects to the base on the side, it acts like a lever, and if you have not tightly screwed the base on it will spin a little over time. But, if connected tightly, this is not an issue. Mounting to a tripod is simple, and works well. One item that may annoy some folks, is on my my camera, a Canon 60D, the plate is about 2 mm too long to open the battery door without loosening the plate and spinning it to open the door. Very minor issue, Only worth mentioning because it might bother some folks, but, since you don't need to remove the plate, it just adds a few seconds to the process. My main issue is that the strap, which I did not purchase for this reason, is a neoprene like material. This just gets sweaty and uncomfortable in my opinion. I generally avoid it. I wish there was a cotton strap option, and will have to rig up my own. I plan on taking a normal strap, and trying to adapt it to be used like the specially designed Indigo Blue strap. This is not as simple at it sounds, and will involve some sewing. The strap is a little different than a normal strap, Rather than have two ends that tie on, it is a closed loop. The plate then can freely slide on the strap without hindrance, with the cushioned/wider part of the strap staying on your shoulder. Tying a knot in a normal strap works, but it not optimal. The knot will catch on the carabiner when it slides along you strap. I would definitely give this item 5 stars if a cotton strap had been available. Personal preference on this one.All in all, I strongly recommend this strap plate. It hangs securely on your side when walking. And avoids a lot of the pitfalls of a front hanging strap. It's easy to pick up a small child and carry them while wearing it. It also works well when wearing a backpack. One recommendation, Use a locking carabiner to connect. I believe, from the pictures, that if you buy the included strap, it does come with a locking carabiner.

Strong hinge plate!
This hinge mount works well. The large screw head makes tightening and loosening a breeze. One problem I've found is the threading on the screw head will not receive any of my plate screws for a tripod or monopod. I can't have the hinge mounted if I want to use my monopod or tripod. Not sure what the intention of the threaded screw head is if you can't use it to mount a plate to it.

This is not a perfect solution but it is acceptable
I have a Nikon D5500, a BlackRapid Metro strap and a Dolica tripod (with proprietary mounting plate). My only complaint about the Indigo Marble mounting plate is that it blocks the battery access panel under the right-sided hand-grip on my camera if installed as shown in most photos. However, I solved that issue by turning the plate around so that the hinge extends just beyond the left side of the camera base...This is not a perfect solution but it is acceptable and the Indigo Marble plate is of sturdy construction. The expensive alternative would have been to buy a new tripod that is compatible with a Swiss ARCA mount AND a Blackrapid ARCA mounting plate so I could attach my Blackrapid Metro strap.

Too heavy for what little value add it has
A heavy little gizmo that performs a minuscule added characteristic. When your pro system already weighs too much, this little thing adds too much weight for what benefit it adds.

Great addition to the camera
I have it on my camera all the time and i have a Black Rapid Strap attached to it. It is well made and love the bit on it that twists on it, on which i have my strap clipped on, as it allows the camera to lay properly at my side. The screw hole on the plate still allows you to attach a tripod or monopod easily. I have now bought two of these items. This one has permanently been on my camera since 2018 and still working OK.Definately recommend it.

Does the job. Very flexible piece of kit - fastens to lens foot, and or base of camera. With a double clip strap or harness is a good buy and allows the weight of your kit to be spread.

A first class item that marries perfectly with the strap. This allows the camera to be placed in a comfortable position and again let's the tripod still attach to the camera without keep removing the fitting.I believe this is a new company but I have found this an outstanding product, better and more comfortable than the neck straps or other slings I have tried and this bracket in my opinion is a quality product made from quality materials. I have no hesitation in recommending the strap and bracket

I wanted a way of being able to use a Black Rapid strap and my tripod without having to remove the tripod plate each time. This fits the bill perfectly at a very reasonable price. It fitted easily and seems very secure although I have yet to use it with the camera and strap alone, I have used it with the tripod and first time the weight of the camera, and lens loosened the screw fixing, but an extra turn or two onto the plate secured it firmly. Would recommend
