For size it's about the same as a small machete, but designed for an entirely different purpose. Cuts well enough and was reasonably sharp on delivery. Comfortable to hold despite size and seems very well made.The polymer sheath is nice and holds on to the blade, making it safe enough.It has been able to cut through anything I've intentionally tried it on so far but the average person will not have much food cutting that needs this size of blade. That is why the 8" kitchen knives are so popular. Then it does make an interesting talking point if put on a wall mount, preferably inside that sheath...

This thing is a monster - you feel like a Gladiator just holding it in your kitchen - as it stands I bought it for cutting up beef for making Baltung - I had a Dalstrong bigass kitchen knife from the same range which is dandy for cutting up the raw beef slabs into drying strips but it was struggling with cutting the dried meat due it being much harder - I needed something more of a cleaver and this badboy fills both wet and dry cutting admirably. 10/10

These knives are absolutely workhorsesVery easy and go through meat like butterI've already ordered 3 more from gladiator series and one from the frost fire series

It's a 14 inch beast. A real head turner if you're doing parties/bbqs like I do.It is NOT as sharp out the box as the Shogun range (but still more than sharp enough).I like mine scary sharp though for briskets/whole chickens hence 4 stars. Could also be a bit heavier. But it's definitely worth the money.
