My mother has had a nautical theme anywhere she's lived for decades. Her condo now is no different, so finding things like this always thrill me since I know it'll be handy for a birthday or Christmas down the road.This is nicely done, the construction is solid, the look is sharp and definitely will draw attention where it is displayed. Even the box is a nice display piece.She should love this.

I am a fan of ancient technology and the amazingly complex yet at the same time simple devices they made. This one is nicely done and a great conversation piece or demonstration unit for how these worked to effectively create a portable timepiece. It can also be used the other way and if you know the time then can figure out your latitude on the earth.It has a really nice antique brass look to it which makes it an even nicer conversation piece but not as useful as a working device. The time dial is too shiny and it is difficult to see where the shadow falls at times. This is not a big issue as I just run my finger along the outside to see where the shadow is falling. All things considered, I think I prefer the too shiny look as most people would never actually use it and it looks much nicer this way.This is a nice piece of craftsmanship and far better than one I purchased a few years ago for a similar price from a different vendor. I am a fan of this product.

The is the second item from MAH that I've ordered. I ordered this sundial for my husband and he absolutely loves it and keeps it displayed on his desk.My hubby has an antique desk with a higher back and he keeps this sundial and a compass, both from MAH, on top. Stunning.The quality of this sundial is amazing and the leather box is equally well done. In my opinion, the price is fantastic for an item of this excellent quality.The craftsmanship of this sundial is just beautiful and gets lots of compliments.You won't be disappointed with this sundial. It's not only a useful tool, it's a beautiful display item.I hope this helps you.

This is really neat in a nautical themes room, office etc. It's well made and looks just like an old antique. It actually works, too. Makes a great conversation piece. Great quality and workmanship.
