Blue Wave Gold 15-Year 18-ft Round Above Ground Pool Winter Cover

This is the best pool cover we have purchased over the last 13 years. Thick and strong.We have purchased many other being told they were thick and had so many years of wear.Always replacing and throwing out after one use. You can tell right away it will last for years!!

I recently purchased this cover and installed on my pool. Great heavy-duty material and the correct size. Great value for the money.

Of course, time will tell if the cover survives the winter and hopefully multiple at that. The material seems good. I was able to easily get it over the pool. It is firm enough so as to not keep flopping into the water as my wife and I pulled it across. It is designed to sit on top of the water but I like to have it over pool pillows as I don't want to deal with too much debris there in the winter.The coated wire provided in my mind is more medium duty, not heavy duty. But it should be fine. My issue is the winch. It is not good quality. Hopefully it will hold. I'll periodically check on it.Also, as others have noted, the warranty is iffy. The first three years if you buy a new one from them they credit you 100% of the price which isn't too bad actually. But if you had issues, you may not want it again. It then prorates over 15 years but it still is contingent on buying a replacement. I'm hoping that this thing will last at least 5 years; I'm happy with that.

When it arrived I expected the same thing I had recieved in previous yrs to cover my 33 ft pool.It doesn't look or feel cheap it has a rubber like coat which seals which many others didn't. It floated easy across the top of the pool. If I need another Def going to be reordering. This is supposed to be a 15 yr warranty. I'd be happy to get 3-5 yrs out of it. Previously I'd have to replace every yr as it was thin and sticks penetrated. Last night I thought I heard kids complaining/crying. I looked around and our 60 lb dog decided again to test the pool cover. Last time/yr her paws/nails went thru the cover and she was technically stuck. This top didn't get a hole in it. She was able to get to the edge and I lifted her out. Last yr I went for a cold swim. I am impressed.

The cover is thick and seems like it will be strong. After opening and getting ready to cover the pool we found a broken rivet and a bent revit. I have emailed the company and asking for a new one asap as the chemicals are already in the pool for closing for the season. When I get a reply I will update my review. I received a new cover from manufacturer.

I have not gone thru an entire winter with this tarp but putting it on was easier because it’s a heavier duty material. Our 18’ round cover was plenty big for an 18’ pool even when we put an inner tube in the middle of the pool and stacked our solar cover on top of that and then ran light weight rope around the tube in 3 places and staked the remaining rope into the ground to keep our “pyramid” in the middle of the pool. No milk cartons with water hanging off the tarp. Fingers crossed this tarp lasts at least until May 3025.

Just had my pool closed so I bought this brand new. Cover seems good but the wench that came with it was broken. Had to buy a new wench. I will update this review in spring after I see how this cover lasts.

I paid is little more for this cover due to the constant winter rain in the seattle area. Cheaper tarps were lasting only 1-2 seasons. This one was trashed within a few months. Almost every grommet ripped out, and it had long tears along the edges. This is only suitable for light weather - no rain or snow. It is basically a leaf cover. Even for that...don't give this company your business. They make no attempt to make things right at all.

Seems heavy duty. Bought a larger size - 28 ft for 24 ft pool so had about 1 1/2 ft overhang after lowering water level below skimmer. Looks like it should handle winter weather well. However, wind gets under it so blows cover away from wire tied down edge. Placed weight around outside of pool and attached to cover grommets via bungee cords. Seems to hold overhang in place better than supplied wire. Probably will also help when we get a good rain and have water weight on top of cover
