Klotz Octane Booster, 16 Ounce Pint

I have used this for years, in my Tacoma and my motor cycles. and does make a bit more better running . I have also used Klots 2 stroke oils in all of my 2 stroke Motor Cycles from 1967 til now . Don Pardew VJMC

Was tuned on torco, got sick of the orange spark plugs... haven't nuked it sense the switch to klotz

Seriously, who in their right mind thinks this stuff has a "Racy" smell? The copy writer who jotted that lie down must have just gotten fired from Bayer pharmaceuticals. This stuff smells (and tastes) more like Cloraseptic than race gas. And yes, it leaves a taste in your mouth... that numb, swollen tongue, cough medicine taste.If you can get past the smell the product does have a couple positive points. Purchased to run in a pump gas street car, If it smells like Cloraseptic then it doesn't smell like gas and oil, that's probably worth a star. The "top lube" ingredient does seem to work, but was hit or miss. Sometimes no blow by, other times blow by. We'll call that a half-star. Then there's the fuel stabilizer, which with todays gas blends is worth a solid star-and-a-half. Had the top lube control and smell been better I'd have given it 5 stars all day long... but this stuff would only smell racy to someone who refers to meth as home cookin'.One interesting thing I did notice and will have to experiment with... I believe my engine ran cooler with the Klotz mixed in. And it sounded different. Arguments can be made on how effective octane boosters actually are, however, after switching from Klotz to a Sta-Bil/Allstar Groovy Grape mix I saw a "two needles width" increase in my coolant temperature. Plus the exhaust note hollowed out a bit. Having a factory "N-O-R-M-A-L" temp gauge rather than an aftermarket "0-240" gauge I went from the low side of "O" to struggling to stay on the low side of "M" less than a mile after making the switch. I thought it was a fluke until a few miles in, when a rising needle and fear of overheating had me heading back to the garage. My only guess for now is that the Klotz is actually an effective enough octane booster that the 3.2oz per gallon ratio I mixed it at increased the octane of the fuel high enough (from 91 to 99 according to their math) that it delayed the combustion cycle to the point of lowering overall combustion temperature, and thus, engine temperature. Experimenting might be done in the spring to verify this more completely, but from a "behind the wheel" evaluation I can't argue it's not an effective octane booster when the stuff makes an engine run that much cooler. (there's a product application for you... a fuel additive that makes your car run cooler!)

Not sure if the engine runs better. But it sure does smell great. It does improve the octane rating. Klotz has bee around awhile.

This stuff works as stated, I just wish it didn't cost so much.

It works really well.

Put 1 can into gas tank, filled the tank with 93 (Costco). Right from the start, acceleration was up, with only half stepping the pedal. So far so good. Works MUCH better than Lucas. Jeep Grand Cherokee Hemi engine, stock, no modifications.

Good stuff

I added this to a 1/2 tank in my bike. It was running rough due to ethanol (and probably water). I thought I would have to drain the tank especially after it was sitting all winter. I added 1/3 of this bottle to what had been in the tank all winter. After a rough start, significant improvement in start and running. More responsive and no more brown smoke/misfire. After several times running even cold start is instant. Well worth it. Saved me a trip to garage.
