Many of the things covered in the manual do have some actual value. It has some cartoon stuff that seems a little funny. The messages are of a serious nature though. The ideas given are great with a good look at the three basics. Gear, Skills, and Survival . One thing lightly touch which I feel is the most important, your mental attitude. You must have a WILL to SURVIVE. Without that you truly TOAST. The items I found of most interest are the making of Gasoline, and Black Powder. Two items which can help you make things a lot easier. Great gardening and water information in the book as well. The IRONY to the prepper movement is a sad legacy of what type of Politicians we have in todays Governments around the world. Get this manual and study it. If nothing happens then COOL. If something does happen, you will be better of with the knowledge you can glean from this book.

The book provides a big picture overview of all the things you could need to survive, not only in the outback jungle, but also the urban jungle. The cover is very durable and not your typical paperback. The pages are nice thickness and the quality of the print is outstanding. The book is helpful and easy to read due to it's concise topics where sometimes 3 or 4 tips are included on one page. Sometimes they can be too short and not detailed enough, but really, that's not what this book is for. In full disclosure, I was a student of the author Tim MacWelch and attended one of his week long survival skills camps in Virginia. I was so impressed by his professionalism and great knowledge of survival skills, that it only made sense for me to purchase his book. You will not be disappointed.

This was a gift from my wife ... and I am quite pleased so far. Good damn book.I grew up spending a significant amount of time hunting and hiking, learning (Eagle Scout/Vigil Honor) how to survive with little and how to prepare for longer term survival. Nearly 30 years as a State Trooper has put me in enough situations, that I know the value of preparedness.This book has refreshed things I've learned decades ago and forgotten .... and given me bunch of new information. Good Job.

I've got a lot of "prep"books, but this one is just downright fun to read, and he has some ideas I've not seen elsewhere. Also, he gives several ways to accomplish your task or skill--not just one. Example: making waterproof matches...of course you can buy them, but making them is simple and MUCH cheaperj, and he outlines 3 ways to do it. If you wanted to give a gift of a prepper book, this would be a good choice, because the book itself is "armored"...the picture doesn't do it justice. It takes "paperback" to a whole new level. Whether this is your first prep book or your twentieth, you won't be disappointed.

The information contained within is good. The quality of the binding and paper is excellent.

Perfect for learning about how to prepare for emergencies.

The book makes a nice coffee table read. Wasn't what I expected so it looses a couple of stars. Its more of a list of ideas rather than a how to.

I picked up one of these for my 32 year old Son and found that my husband wanted it so bad that he wouldn't part with it, so I had to purchase another. We were so impressed with the survival skills. We have spent many years hiking, camping, hunting and survival prepping and still found many new and interesting tips in this book.

I bought this book thinking it just might come handy for some outdoor activities but it's a great book about many different things glad I bought it.

Good book for those that are looking at ideas, as always male your own mind up on what's best for you and your situation! But the book is a great read
