Ease of use and sharpening.
Have used these paring knives for years and would hate to be without them. I even buy them for my daughter so when I am at her house I have a good paring knife in the knife.

A happy convergence of excellent design, quality materials, and low cost!
I bought a couple of "RADA Heavy Duty Paring knives w/ Black Resin Handle" in November of 2016, used them just about every day in the kitchen, and was so impressed by how well-made and versatile they are that I later bought more RADA products. Mind you, I have other paring knives available in my kitchen, for example: Dexter (made in the USA) and Victorinox (made in Switzerland) paring knives, very well made and highly serviceable, but more single-purpose as to how they were designed and/or intended to be used. The RADA knives, however, are the ones I automatically reach for when I need a paring knife. One reason I prefer to use this particular paring knife is its handle -- I'm a bit over 6'2" and, depending on the brand, use size L or XL gloves. This knife's HANDLE just feels "right" in my hands. Also, the blade is made of bright surgical steel that takes and holds a good edge, has what I'd describe as a modified American "clip-point" tip (not a "spear tip" point), and is a breeze to keep ready sharp with a RADA sharpener. The blade also has a bit of flex to it, sufficient, but not not too much. If I had to hazard a guess, I'd say that this knife is the end-result of a long process of refinement, and, when the good people at RADA finally hit the sweet spot and got it right, they stopped messing with it! Beautiful!! In conclusion, and what seals the deal for me, is that this knife is much more than just a single-purpose pairing knife. This pairing knife can perform multiple duties or tasks, one of them being that I can use it as a steak knife in, for example, relaxed informal dining at home. Whenever I need a no frills, ready sharp, highly precise and controllable short blade, with a handle that fits my hand comfortably and securely, this is what I use. I keep four of these in my knife block and two brand new ones in reserve. This product is truly excellent, AND IT'S MADE IN AMERICA. Well, that's it. Thank you all, and God bless.

Best!
I’ve been using RADA Knives since the 90’s!!You just can’t get a better knife for the inexpensive prices of RADA. If they do become dull; which takes quite awhile; their knife sharpener is so fast & easy to use, & it puts a razor sharp edge back on it. This time I’m trying the black handled ones, because guests don’t know that the silver ones, can’t go in the dishwasher or soak. It’s not good to put any knives in a dishwasher though! I will always buy RADA! My Mom & cousin also use Rada knives. You won’t have any regrets buying these knives. ( and I didn’t get a promotion or anything, for this review! I disregard the reviews that they have got a promotion etc. I really dislike them)!!

I have to go with the majority here.
We received a small paring knife and ham knife as gifts from a local church. ( Actually they were selling them for their charities )We liked them but didn't think much of it.In Outside magazine recently they had some excerpts from some red hot chef's newest book, one of which was "Why waste money on Wustof or Henkels when you can buy Rada"That got me looking on the Amazon website and I was blown away with the depth of product and prices of Rada cutlery. As a result we bought a larger paring knife, the tomato knife and the sharpener. All are great. They are sharp as razors, take an edge with the nifty little five star sharpener and are cheap. We could care less what they look like when used. We went with black because as some reviewers said, the aluminum handle can be small and slippery when wet. We found black to be no problem. We will buy some slicers and dicers next. For those of you looking for wedding gifts for young couples, a full set of Rado would be a great place to start. If you lose one or trash it doing things like prying or cutting tin cans, throw it away and get a new one for less than ten bucks. For you kitchen snobs...stay with the high end products and then figure out how to keep them sharp without buying a $200 electric sharpener which does a marginal job. ( Thats what we did with some Henkels!)Bottom line, just like most reviews.SharpEasy to sharpenCheap compared to other knivesMADE IN THE USA!

I didn't even realize how dull my other knives were until I put this one ...
I've had this knife about a month now, and I have forsaken all others. It cuts through an apple with ease. I didn't even realize how dull my other knives were until I put this one to the test! The knife has good weight and balance to it. The handle is solid and the juncture between blade and handle is very durable. I originally ordered this product as a sample to help me pick out a set of kitchen knives for my bridal registry. The price seemed too good to be true, but this knife lives up to the hype! I will be registering for an entire Rada Cutlery set for my wedding! The only thing I will add is that the handle is just big enough for someone with large hands. I have very large hands for a woman. (I usually buy mens winter gloves to ensure they fit.) The handle felt just a little small when I was trying to, say, core an apple at an angle. This has true of most paring knives for me, but I wanted to mention it!

Super sharp and incredible value
Love this brand of knives. My mother used these for decades; I use them, and now my two daughters use them. This knife is super sharp and feels good in my hand. Thicker handle gives a safe grip. I never put these in the dishwasher; just wipe, dry and put away.

Hardly Heavy Duty
This is a very small knife, and I would not call it heavy duty. I am an average size woman and it feels too small in my hand. Would be way too small for most men. That said, the knife is sharp and works. Just not that comfortable to use since it’s so small. Lightweight…yes. Would I buy again…no.

Though the handle does not look too fancy at first look it is sturdy and this is a knife
Now that I've had a few weeks to test this knife out I feel confident that I can go with Rada for all my cutty/stabby needs. The blade stays very sharp and cuts though meat, vegetables and other foods with ease. Though the handle does not look too fancy at first look it is sturdy and this is a knife, so it's not about the handle. Though it's hard to say how long it will stay sharp with extensive use, the quality of the metal makes me confident that I will be able to resharpen it without any problems.
