Very poorly designed. Not worthing buying.
The design of this product is very poor in nearly every area. While the hardware is basically sound, the interface is horrible. Here are its major flaws:1) The transmitter requires 3 'C' sized cells (which only last a couple of days according to some reports) for power, or else a 5v AC adapter. The use of an A/C adapter is acceptable, but the barrel jack is a rather uncommon 3.5mm one and is not supplied with the unit. I just happened to have the right adapter, otherwise it would have been useless after a few days.2) While the display unit appears nice at first glance, it still has much to be desired. The display for cost is missing the decimal place, so instead of $1.12, it reads $112. The history is just some bars without units, so is not very useful. It also doesn't show the last 24 hours, but instead the history for the current day since midnight.3) The PC software is the worst design flaw of all. There is no way to save any of the data for analysis, and the only two options for viewing power usage is a running table and a graph. The table shows power usage per hour and is therefore somewhat useful. It also, shows daily amounts and other aggregations, but no way to see hourly usage in a graph or beyond 24 hours. The graph of usage shows only several recent data points, and the legend on the x-axis is some kind of timestamp (a large integer), so there is no way to correlate usage to a time of day. Furthermore, the graph only shows recent time periods (I am guessing about an hour), so it is also not very useful. One last possible issue is the with the current sensors provided. They are listed as handling only 30 amps, yet they are supposed to be clipped onto the A/C mains. I didn't try to verify the accuracy, but they did seem to read a 60 amp load okay, so I don't really know what they are really designed to handle. Documentation is very poor, so there is no way to really know. Just another reason to stay away from this product.I would not bother buying this product. I do not know if there are better ones available as this market is fairly new. So tread carefully.
