Its so hard to find a decent collection of classic pop without duplicating songs over and over again. This collection though is amazing!! I love every song! There were even some i'd never heard before. Very high quality and all original recordings by the original artists! I ordered every year in the series and not a single ounce of regret. And you absolutely can not beat the price for the amount of songs you get.

Maybe the music in 1962 wasn't as good as I remember, but we didn't enjoy this Cruisin as much as some of the others. Still, the recording quality is very good and there's a lot of fun music for little dollars

The recording is fine but the data coding both the CD's is messed up- it believes both disks are another album - Cruisin' Crimson - and reads the playlists for both cd's in this set the same, the playlist from Cruisin' Crimson. I would return the album but there is nothing wrong with the cd as listed on the album jacket but the online playlist is maddening. I believe a simple manufacturing issue.

Another stellar release from the folks at One Day music. Some of the best classic rock and roll ever, with some long lost, and forgotten songs here too. Presented in a colorful and sturdy CD case. Get the whole series!

1962 was year I really discovered music (at 15, a late starter). This album is a perfect compilation of 1962 (from a US perspective) - I couldn't compile a better album. Not every track is to my taste (Bobby Vinton, James Darren, The Duprees) but without them it would be a lesser representation of 1962. The Elvis tracks are the start of his slide into forgettable music - but they are 1962 Elvis (enjoyable without being great Elvis). The major flaw is the inclusion of the Beatles - no one in the US (and few in the UK, for that matter) had heard of the Beatles in 1962. Beatlemania broke in 1963. The result is that Love Me Do and PS I Love You (Her Saw Her Standing There and Twist & Shout which book ended The Beatles early 1963 debut album were the only truly great Beatles 1962 recordings) sound lesser tracks in this company - from the group that went on to dominate the 60s and were unarguably the most important group of the decade. Finally, the other British track Telstar sounds very very dated but was so so very 1962 (one of the world's best sellers of 1962 and No.1 in the USA), and merits it's inclusion.

This is music from my early teens, a golden age. Even if you haven't come across all of the tracks previously, buy this (so cheap!) to experience the musical youth of the baby-boomers.
