they are pretty. On the other hand
" Birds" on the one hand, they are pretty. On the other hand, they're intrusive, and when they get in to the little opening in my roof, it sounds like a marching band is crawling around in the ceiling when I'm trying to sleep. It's with a heavy heart that I recently decided that enough is enough. I tried to purchase one of those owl scarecrows and perch it right in front of the window... it didn't really work, in fact I think it attracted more birds, so I've tried a different approach, and it worked. I hung up the tape (BTW, it's not really 'tape', there is no sticky side) in little 1 foot strips near the opening, and so far...no birds.

Surprisingly effective! No more crows :)
Honestly, I am surprised this works! It's super shiny and makes a nice fluttering noise, which I think definitely helps to scare away the crows that used to hang out in the trees in our yard. They would climb on the roof, mess up our trees & plants, and cause our dogs to bark. I have had a scarecrow, but that didn't do anything, and tried using another tape before, but it wasn't really effective (it was one color, maybe the red helps scare off the birds?) Not sure what it is - but just happy this one works :)I didn't want to get any spikes on my roof so I'm really glad hanging this up in the trees did the trick.

Got the product a couple of days ago and started using it. It seems to work very well by keeping the birds, including the nasty jaybirds, off my fruit trees in the backyard. I have already recommend it to my friends who have bigger gardens and larger fruit trees.
