Not a thriller, not a gangster twister. More dialogue and childish.
The sample download was short for me, so had to take a gamble on whether it would be good. After download, I found the sample was actually 2 chapters. The novel was the same as the sample. It carried on the same for me, a lot of dialogue, not much happening, no depth, no emotion, a lot of writing, but nothing really happening. Still at chapter 26, nothing much has changed, no grit, no drama, no twists, no turns, no build ups. Just back and forth covering the same old ground it does in the previous chapters.Alice the young girl, shouldn't even be in this type of novel. It isn't Alice in wonderland for me it was irritating, ruined the story line.By chapter 33 it started to pick up. Gray was re-introduced, started to pick up a little, little twist and turns. For me, these well established men, who were suppose to be top of their game, high ranking etc, came across as immature, inexperienced, and needed the help of two teenagers? this story line didn't work and for me, I didn't enjoy this novel at all.I loved her old novels, but the last one and this one have changed and just don't do it for me at all. I have no idea why there is a third coming out in this series and it won't be for me to download.

Loved this book
I've been reading Jacqui Rose from her first book. She never fails..In fact I believe her writing has much improved.. I would advise reading 'Toxic' first, it'll give you a much better understanding of who the main characters are as this one doesn't give up much of their backround..I read this book in 2 night, I enjoyed it so much

A good read!
I read this book as a stand-alone as I didn’t realise this was part of a ‘set’. I didn’t feel that I had missed anything by not reading the first book, but it would’ve been a little bit helpful, in terms of, knowing the characters a bit. With that being said, I found the storyline, a little far fetched at times and quite slow to the build up. Alice Rose, doesn’t seem to really fit in with the story, neither does her friend Isiah. It seemed a bit childish at times too, a bit like reading a young adult book. I have read a couple of Jaqui Rose books before and have found them to be ok too.Although I wasn’t ‘wowed’ with this book, I would still recommend as it was still relatively good. I will continue to read books by this author too

Not a good read
I have always enjoyed Jacqui Rose books and looked forward to this one. I will not be purchasing anymore from this author. What a load of rubbish full of violence and horror that is leaving me troubled instead f enjoying a good novel. Sorry to leave such a negative review but would not recommend wasting your money
