I was a bit concerned with some of the reviews, but, finally decided to go with the AM101. Very glad that I did.I downloaded the specs and installation instructions and actually, pre plumbed the installation prior to receiving the valve. (hoping the dimensions given were correct). Upon receipt of the valve, I was delighted that indeed all was accurate. Adjustment was straight forward. I too thought I was unable to turn the adjustment handle. I ended removing the end screw completely and figured out what the instructions meant about pulling the knob out. Works perfectly.

Works just as described and it’s easy to adjust. I went ahead and paid a plumber $165 to install it. Took him less than an hour and it involved soldering.

Months later still works well. Replaced different brand valve, fit right in. Installed on hot water supple from oil fired boiler with tankless coil. I held back one star because not sure of durability yet. As they say, your mileage may vary. Especially with all the different water conditions that can be encountered. I am on well water.Follow up: worked for 1yr 4mos. Due to water conditions this valve starts to stick internally with mineral buildup. I have used 5 of these valves in past years and all last about the same time.Update 2/4/22: Just replaced this valve the 5th time. My well water causes deposits inside the valve that make it stick after about a year and few months. Can't blame the valve. Very easy to change out in about 15 minutes on my water system. No complaints.Update 8/24/23: Replace valve again today after it stopped tempering the water temp. Old valve lasted 1-1/2 years. 6 months on hard/acidic well water and a year on softened neutralized water. Valve adjusted to 120°.I will update with how long this new replacement valve lasts on my now softened and neutralized water.

Our water heater was not getting hot. Thinking that it was the thermostat my husband ordered one through ebay, but went out to the garage because the water was ice cold. He touched the pipes on top and they too were cold. After checking he found the the mixer valve was the issue. Ordered and delivered the same day. He installed it and we are back to got water.

Well made, if you can sweat copper connections, you can install this. Keeps my hot water at a perfectly even temperature no matter how long the shower.

You need some pressure for it too work. 1 meter of tank height is not enough.

Direct replacement for similar unit. Love that it goes higher than 120/125. Easy change just be sure you support the pipes when you crack the nuts as they will be tight and you don't wanna damage them. Also I reused the nuts from the old unit as they were identical but be sure you remove the old paper style gaskets, clean the flanges well with scotchbrite or the green side of a sponge. I loosened the screw and lift the plastic up to adjust. I maxed mine out then back a quarter inch but if you have children or elderly take your time and adjust it to a safe temperature.

The valve was very difficult to turn to adjust the temperature, I had to use pliers. Not a huge deal since I don't plan to ever adjust it now that the temperature in the bathroom pipes is calibrated at 120°F.The valve was easy enough to install otherwise.

Item was an exact match for my old one and fit perfectly
