Totally synthetic, no digested moles here.
While these pellets are easy to open they lack the excitement of an actual owl pellet. The bones are flexible plastic, the fur is one piece of gray fluff. If you are using these with students, prepare to occupy their time with other tasks: they extraction of the bones takes a five year old about 30 seconds, if you count finding scissors to cut the plastic wrap. The bones are piled inside the fur, not intertwined with the fur. The pellets also offer less dust and mess than a true owl pellet. Skeleton diagrams are included, which are a little on the small side, but enlarge nicely.
