Casio10 Year Battery Quartz Watch with Resin Strap, Black, 27.2 (Model: DW-291H-9AVCF)

I'm a huge fan of the G-Shock line and have dozens of them that I've picked up over the years . You can't beat them for durability as an everyday beater , but this watch , the DW-291H-9AVCF , is a nice feeling and looking watch for the price . I'm usually underwhelmed by the cheaper Casio's . They're usually lightweight and have a plastic clanky crystal . This , on the other hand , has heft to it , a 4-screw stainless case back , and a nice glass crystal , it almost feels like a G-Shock . The only negative is that the buckle plastic , it probably wouldn't be a problem . It looks like it might be the same as one of the G-Shock buckles , it'd be nice to swap one of those metal ones on . Impressive for the price , recommended .

Another reviewer pointed out that, unlike G-Shocks, the mineral glass face on this watch is flush with the bezel. I hadn't noticed - but I've never had much difficulty scratching the surface of any G-Shock I've owned. Going to happen if you weld or work on machinery and forget to take off your watch - guilty😕. Big, easy to read display. Easy to set up and use.Yeah, it doesn't have the non-working or inaccurate temp, compass, etc functions of other Casinos, but it looks good, has the functions I actually use, and it was $26 delivered. I'm liking it.

I never write reviews. I had many Casios over the years. I absolutely love this one! And the price is great.

I have had this watch for about three months now. There are some things I like about it, and some that I don't.Pro's.....This watch is a nice size. It is large enough to read easily, but not as thick and bulky as some G-Shock models are. The face is simple and uncluttered. The time is not buried in extra dials, graphs and unnecessary information that so many modern watches have. It comes with very clear instructions and is easy to adjust.Con's....However, this is very much a 21st century product. I have been buying watches like this for 20+ years. The earlier versions were basically indestructible, and very accurate. They might have lost five or ten seconds in a year, if that. This one is not as rugged, and it loses about thirty seconds a month. I usually set my watches about five minutes fast, so super accuracy is not a major issue. However, one of the small joys of life is knowing that your watch is completely reliable. This one is not. As with so many other companies, when Casio moved production to China, the quality of their products declined significantly. In brief, this watch is a good size, and it is easy to read and adjust, but its accuracy is just not in the same league as its previous cousins.

Such a good deal... This is my second version of this model, so I'm a little biased. The only thing it could use is something to protect the surface (I don't like scratches).I like the gold tone of the face, it seems like it's easier to read than the other other version I have (red).It has all the features I was looking for and has a simplified display and Larger numbers. My wrists are pretty large so it's nice to have a watch that fits (I'm using nearly the last hole on the band). It may fit a bit larger on the wrist for smaller folks.
