Lots of surface area for filtering. There is expanded metal on both sides, so air can be drawn through either direction. I use this on my dust collector for my woodshop and it keeps my air pretty clean. I would highly recommend it.

Okay I received my first filter which was bent up a bit from shipping. I contacted the seller and they gladly are replacing it, and it showed up in just two days. Have not used this much on my dust collector but it has to do a better job than my BAG.

This filter has exceeded my expectations for the price. This sq. ft. area is even a few ft. larger than the >$200 well known version. Without ducting connected it pulls the maximum volume that it can, this filter didn't restrict the flow at all.I had forgotten to plug the hole in the closed end, and thought there would be a high velocity air stream blowing out the bottom. It was more like a soft blow thru a straw. A small cork fixed that easily. This also helped quiet down the Cyclone as it acts like a muffler on the exhaust flow. I'm very happy I took a chance on this filter as there were no reviews. If your in the market for a .5 Micron (or there abouts) filter then you've found it. Buy it , you won't be sorry.The Cyclone in the photo is my homemade 18" diameter unit from the plans available for free from Bill Pentz. It works FANTASTIC with this filter.Update 6/2022: Rkruz gave this filter a 1 star review because it was delivered damaged to him in a pristine Amazon Box. If he had thought even a little about it, he would have realized it was damaged and Amazon sent it out that way. It's not the fault of Bradenfilters that a damaged unit was sent out. How 'bout giving us a review of the product not the robot shipping it out of Amazon warehouse. So......Review update: After over 2 years of use with my Home Made Cyclone I can say that I am even more pleased with this filter for this application. It's efficient (no dust from the filter) , It's quiet, and it allows the modified Harbor Freight Fan Box to function to it's maximum suction. I upgraded the impeller blade and installed a 6" pvc schedule 80 ductwork system with NO 90* elbows, all corners were 2 45* bends.From over 30 ft. of pipe it would suck up a 16' stanley tape measure and pull it overhead to the Cyclone.This filter causes ZERO restrictions. I am a General Contractor and have run over 10 sheets of BB plywood thru this along with countless 100s of feet of rips and crosscuts on the Table Saw. When I sold my house and moved, the filter was still pristine. This combination is fantastic. Buy this filter, you won't be disappointed.I was not paid or offered anything for my review. I just want to pass a good deal on to fellow woodworkers.

I chose this filter after speaking with the customer service rep. I am building a two stage system using a HF 2hp motor and liked the price compared with the more popular brand of filter used for this type of setup. The filter is very heavy and is constructed well from what I can tell without having used it yet. I am still putting my dust collector two stage setup together so I will update with a review of the performance and pictures once I am finished.

The filter along with its mfr box was smashed in the middle and damaged beyond repair. The outer Amazon box was not damaged.
