I started taking Ashwagandha a while ago to help relieve anxiety symptoms. I work from home, and sometimes I can feel like the walls are closing in on me. Not all the time, but when it does hit me it's a terrible feeling. I get very shaky and nervous, and imagine all sorts of more serious problems are at hand from the slightest ache or pain, which can very well see the situation spiral out of control. (The old "feeling of impending doom" thingy that true anxiety sufferers know all too well I'm afraid). Though I have taken a mood support supplement in the past for years, it never made me feel so totally relaxed as when I started combining it with Ashwagandha. I actually couldn't believe how good I felt after taking it the first time. I just felt so relaxed, unhurried, and content. It was as good as any miracle drug could be at the time I promise you. And I have been taking it ever since, and still feel its working continuously at taking the edge off and making me feel more secure and relaxed all the time. One capsule morning and night it all it takes. And you will even sleep much more soundly with it. I only wish I had found it years ago...I have tried several brands of this in the past, and keep coming back to the Swansons for the price, and more importantly the brand has never disappointed me. I've taken other supplements by them as well, and still do, (including Lycopene and CoQ10). The price is very reasonable, as well as always available and shipped quickly here on Amazon, and as mentioned before, consistently effective. If you have a problem or a history of stress/anxiety disorders I highly suggest you try this before that horrible feeling of the deep end being just up ahead overwhelms you. I can't promise it will be as effective for you, but for me personally it's working wonderfully, and I won't be without it again... : )

Let me start by saying, I was very skeptical that any natural products can heal you. I will also give a run down of my ailments.I have 2 ruptured disks in my back, fibromyalgia, endometriosis, anxiety and panic attacks, and I never sleep. I was on a huge list of meds that I absolutely hated taking, but had no choice. I read up on the Ashwagandha Root and decided to try it, what did I have to lose?I started with 2 capsules at bedtime. Now normally at bedtime, I took a Xanax, a muscle relaxer, and narcotic pain medicine just to be able to relax, keep my pain manageable, and get about an hour of sleep before I woke up. I did this every night, slept an hour, woke up an hour, slept and hour, etc. The first night I took the Ashwagandha, I didn't take the Xanax, muscle relaxer, or narcotic. I slept for 3 hours before waking. That sounds bad, but it was so much better than the usual. I repeated this every night.Not only am I more relaxed, my pain has somewhat subsided. Not completely, but it's tolerable. Better yet, I'm not putting those awful drugs in my system. I have not had a Xanax or narcotic in 2 weeks and counting. I have had to take a muscle relaxer now and then when the pain gets unbearable from muscle spasms, but much less frequently.I can't say much about the Ashwagandha root making me feel out of it or loopy like other reviews, it did not have that effect on me, I never felt drugged or out of it or loopy. I have noticed my tolerance for idiots and my patience has increased since taking it, so it does provide a calming effect without the "glassy, loopy eyes, who cares", effect Xanax has. Read the ingredients, it's all natural, why not give it a shot and just see if it makes a difference in you? It did for me and the biggest plus was getting off addictive drugs that are not good for you. As always, consult with you doctor on everything you take and never stop a medicine you take regularly abruptly. Some medications require that you be weaned off of them to prevent withdrawals and sometimes seizures or worse.That was my experience and I'll be purchasing more.

Works well

My problem is not so much getting to sleep, it's staying asleep- this seems to be the only thing that really helps. I remember Dr. Oz making a big point about how great this herb was for that specific issue (No, let me make it clear I am not someone's crazy bed ridden grandma who watches Dr. Oz for medical advice and starts spouting it to people, I jist happened to see him remark on this herb and remember it.)After finding valerian root virtually did nothing for helping my sleep, and learning the risks of kava kava..I stumbled across Ashwagandha as an Ayurvedic option for anxiety and stress, remember Dr. Oz mentioning it, as well as several reports and studies of it benefiting several systems of the brain and promoting healing, so I figured at the inexpensive price it couldn't hurt.The first night I took it, both me and my husband had beautiful deep sleep and stayed asleep until morning. This was quite exciting, because I for one, have been battling insomnia for a while.I now take it every single night, and it seems to be helping. The nights I forget, I often wake up as I used to. I also find my memory and head are overall clearer during the day. I don't actually find this herb sleep inducing by itself, but rather stress relieving with no real effect on my energy level. This is a great option for sufferers of daytime anxiety avoiding drugs.

First time ordering this product about the effect. I can't say anything yet, but the jar is big, there are a lot of capsules for a long time, it will be enough and the price is good, I am like the purchase.

Keeps my mood more level but the sleep is great! I take it before bed and will sleep sound and wake refreshed!

These are very helpful at the end of the day to relax and get me ready for sleep. The capsules are not too big and the dosage is good. There is no taste and they seem to be effective. Swanson has very affordable supplements with very good quality.
