Pinker, Fresher Than Cans; Some Disingenuousness
With its pink chunks, minimal water, and vacuum-sealed cup (no fridge or can opener needed), this is an evolutionary step up from canned boneless, skinless, wild-caught salmon: It tastes fresher, and with no fishiness. The portions are clearly hand-selected, too -- they're large, intact spears, not the flakes and shreds that make it into cans. That said, you'll pay more: This Chicken of the Sea product sells for $0.55/ounce, while Starkist's Boneless Skinless Wild-Caught Salmon sits at $0.36/ounce.For certain, its marketing is sketchy: This isn't "Alaskan Salmon," but a product of Thailand -- the "Pink Salmon" variety, just like canned competitors. And while its cup is portably convenient, single-use plastics haters must look elsewhere. Also of note: It's attractively boneless and skinless, but that oddly goes unadvertised. For what it's worth, these things haven't stopped me from being a regular buyer, as the product within is best-in-class. - (Was this of use? If so, let me know by clicking "Helpful." Cheers!)

Country product is from.
Advertised as Alaskan salmon, received today listed on container as product of Thailand, how about truth in advertising.

Not Alaskan salmon
Front label says Wild Catch Alaskan salmon; if you look closely on the back it says Product of Thailand. Totally misrepresented as a product of USA.

Great treat for cats
I got these as a treat for my cats. Occasional treat type treats for cats tend to be an abysmal value. They are very expensive, but you get just a few ounces of treat. For 3 cats I have to open 6-8 of them to be enough. I opened 1 of these cups today and my cats all sat around together and munched at it nicely. There is still some left. This can be a full meal for 3 cats if you want to give them a nice treat.

Perfect tuna!
I eat this right out of the container with my favorite crackers. I need a high protein low calorie diet so this is perfect. The flavor is exceptional.

5-STARS for Packaging and BASIC PINK SALMON Product
UPDATE of my review written in July of 2020: ... Have purchased this exact 8-pack product four different times, sold by Amazon Services, the most recent Order in August 2021 at a price of $19.76, just two months ago. That price was the same on all four of my Orders during the past year, since July 2020, about when the product was introduced by Chicken of the Sea and Sold by Amazon. But today, October 10, 2021 on returning to Order again, I find it offered by some Rip-Off Outside Seller at a price of $27.93. - No Sale - I will Order again if and when Amazon becomes the Seller again. Don't pay RIP-OFF sellers ridiculous prices. END OF UPDATE. ...Excellent safe and convenient packaging of this BASIC PINK SALMON product from Chicken of the Sea - a good flavored Pink salmon, compared to the expected superior flavor of my regular Orders and use of SOCKEYE salmon at $7-$8(USD) per six-ounce can (Wild Planet Sockeye is my choice and yes, Sockeye is Premium salmon). Price of this new product is okay at $19.76 per 8-Pack display case holding eight 4.5 ounce containers. I will re-order this new product for regular use as a cold salmon salad on Ritz or Town House crackers for breakfast or lunch. As is, from the container, or add mayonnaise, dill Weed, or sometimes a pinch out of one packet of powdered TrueLemon. Highly recommended for what it is, a convenient and very good basic Pink salmon.

Great Tuna!!
I bought these to bring to work for a lite lunch and so far I can say they are pretty tasty. I don’t think they taste much different than any other tuna I’ve had but my wife has been loving them too. I only add a little oil & vinegar to it. Sorry I don’t eat mayo so can’t give you any feedback on how it tastes with mayo. I just throw it in my lunch box and go so it’s really easy if I’m in a rush in the morning not that I’m ever late for work lol! The packaging is great and holds up just fine.

Good Value
I eat a lot of packaged salmon, I was impressed with the “chunks” of salmon. Did not taste fishy, good product for the price.
