Very happy with this light!
I purchased this light in 11/2015, but it took me a while to get it put up. Not because the light was any problem, but because I became too busy to do it. Anyway, I needed an outdoor light, specifically solar powered so I wouldn't have to pay an extra power bill and an electrician to wire a new light for me. I needed to light up the gate at my driveway entrance.I hired a buddy to help me put it up. This is what we used: a 22'x6"x6" square post, 1 bag of Quickcrete, and everything that came packaged with the light. First, we attached the solar panel to the top of the post. Next we attached the panel that you snap the body of the light onto directly under the solar panel. We connected the solar panel to the body with the cord plugged in & then we set the lighting sensitivity. I chose the all night dusk to dawn setting with brightness upon motion detection. Lastly, we set the post about 4-5 feet in the ground with the Quickcrete and left it alone. The first night, it didn't work! And unfortunately, my buddy got very busy (as did I) the next two weeks so we couldn't take it down to see what went wrong. Finally, two weeks later, we got the light down and decided it must need a battery - only to discover that I never plugged the battery in! LOL!!! And my buddy has never let me live that down... Haha! That night, I couldn't wait for it to get dark. I walked out on my front porch (which is at least 80 feet away from the gate) and I could see the light was on! It looked like a bright flashlight at first, but when I drove to it, the light was surprisingly bright, even on the dim dusk to dawn setting. I could clearly see the entire area I had wanted lit up. Next, I got out of my car to test the motion sensitivity and it worked great again! This time, the floodlight came on and it was very impressive for such a small solar powered light. The brightness was much better than I was expecting.I live out in the country in Alabama, so I was concerned about the weather. This light has been up & working for over 2 months now & it seems to be holding up very well with our unpredictable weather. I hope it makes it through the hot & humid summer, as well as the next cold winter. If anything changes, I'll come back and update my review. My honest opinion is: this is a great light for the money. I would buy it again & again. In fact, I plan to order a few more to put around my house & eventually my business. This light is very easy to install. Just make sure the battery is connected before you put it up. ;-) Lol! Happy lighting!

Inconsistent light
We installed this light to illuminate our porch and walkway. The fist few nights it worked okay, although the brightness varied each night. Then one night I came home and there was no light at all and it has not come on since. Do not depend on this product for safety or security on a rainy night - it does not deliver as advertised. I could not see well and I fell. It may be fine for a playground or patio but if you need reliable light find another product.

Excellent Solar Light
I would highly recommend this light.Back in July of this year, I began looking for a lighting solution for a music festival. The lighting needed to be solar, it needed to provide enough light for campers and festival attendees to be able to make their way, in the dark, around the festival site. After looking at some cheaper units, I emailed the company that makes this unit for some advice and theyrecommended the EE814WDC. After getting some great information from the supplier, we ordered two of the units and began to do some simple testing. Eventually, we ordered 22 of the units and installed them at the festival site, mounting them on 12' 2x4 poles supported with a triangular metal post. At 12' off the ground, we were able to adjust the detection unit to detect pedestrian traffic. Some of the features that are worth mentioning:1. The units were well constructed and reliable with 22 out of 22 functioning. The cheaper lights that I originally investigated had a 25% failure rate, out of box.2. The ability to set the sensitivity and to set the level of brightness in Mode B was useful. At 50% dimming, I estimated that the unit could run in bright mode for 5-7 hours and then in the dim mode for another 5 hours.3. Their was much thought put into these lights. For example, the solar panel is separate from the light which provided great flexibility in pointing the panel toward the south. Furthermore, the panel's plug is a compression fit into the light which helps prevent corrosion.4. The battery is replaceable.5. The parts were made with precision and snapped together with ease.I have included some photos showing how they were deployed at the music festival. Four units were placed along a walking path, six units in the tent camping area, and 4 units in the RV camping area. The remainder near the main event area.We plan on using these units again next year. In the meantime, I have one installed at my house and will continue to monitor it.
