Came for a Trial, Will Stay for the Case
Just so we are all clear, I did NOT get reimbursed for my opinion of this product. I payed for it and am just reviewing it because I want to.So first up, the hooks. The hooks are ok. They are not the quality of Clover's, but they aren't awful. If you want to try out ergonomic handles at a cheaper price, I suppose you could, but again, they do not match quality of Clover. They crochet ok, but they are not nearly as smooth, and the handles are unfinished. Also, they include the mm size of the hooks, but not the US letter size. This makes things difficult for people who are not used to only MM size.Second, the extra tools, I received all the tools, and was quite happy with them. They are a little on the cheap side, but again, as a starter set, not bad. I was especially happy with the snips and gauge. Now we come to the most impressive part of this whole thing. The case. HOLY COW! This case, it blows everything out of the water. It is stellar. It is on par to Clover's case. It is bigger than the lime green and pink one. It holds EVERYTHING that comes in this kit. I am beyond impressed with the case and would gladly pay what I did for the set for just this case. It is difficult to find a Clover case by itself, either without the hooks, or at a reasonable price. This is what makes me push this product. This is why you should buy this set. Frankly, I think the company could just sell the cases and turn profit. It is that nice. The kit as a whole was ok, but the case set it apart from the other sets out there.*I will add pics of all of this later.

Great case, great hooks, but useless extra tools.meant for knitting, not crochet
This is a great set, and frankly, the case alone is worth the money. However, this does not mean that the hooks are worthless. To the contrary, they are fantastic. I have five types of wooden hooks (KnitPicks Caspian is my favorite of those), as well as aluminum, resin, and steel hooks, and five sets of ergonomic hooks, including Clover Amour and Soft Touch. I am bedridden with a serious spinal injury and crochet up to 15 hours per day, so having exactly the right hook is very important. These are a knockoff of the Amour.hooks gift set, but cost perhaps a fourth as much. I found this set to be worth owning, even though I already had the Amour gift set.For starters, the sizes are different. The Amour set includes 2.25mm, 2.75mm, 3.25mm, and 3.75mm hooks, whereas this has 2.0, 2.5, 3.0, and 3.5mm hooks. While the other five sizes are the same for both, I like having the greater flexibility in choosing a hook in the small sizes. Half a millimeter difference in hook size can really add up even if you are going from 6mm to 6.5mm, but it is enormous when you are going from 2mm to 2.5mm. With the explosion of patterns calling for sock yarn, I use smaller hook sizes frequently, and having more size options in the smaller sizes really helps. By the way, the older letter/number sizes are not standard, and different manufacturers produce hooks of different sizes for a given letter size. Old patterns can be especially tricky in this regard. Using millimeter sizes makes everything much simpler, as you can see much more easily what you need to do for gauge-critical items. For example, is a 3.50mm hook too small and 4.00mm a smidge too large? Try a 3.75mm hook. It just makes it so much easier to pick what you need.Second, the hooks are slick, shiny metal, excellent for working with certain difficult yarns. In particular, cotton does not have the stretch of either hair fibers (such as wool and alpaca) or most synthetics, and working a large number of stitches into the same space can be tight. I am doing the Frida's Flowers Crochet Along (CAL), but making a much larger version, so I am doing this a lot, and I would be going bonkers without these.Third, the case is *great*, larger than the Clover Amour case, even holding my Amour 15mm hook, which I put in the slot meant for the cutter. I mixed the two sets, putting my smaller hooks (arranged by size, not brand) in the smaller case, and the larger hooks in the larger case.Fourth, this is great as a backup set, given how inexpensive it is. It is maddening to misplace a hook and.have to drop everything and search. Now for the negatives: The tools are all knitting-only tools (except the stitch markers), and cannot be used with crochet. Even the knitting-needle gauge can only be used with inline hooks, and these are not inline hooks. The yarn cutter shredded my yarn rather than cut it, the stitch holder has no place in crochet, the yarn needles are essentially children's toys, and the row counter (the kind intended to fit on a knitting needle) is the worst I have ever encountered -- the slightest touch changes the count. The stitch markers are a style I like, but are made of a stiff plastic, rather than the softer, more flexible plastic I am used to. The one thing that would make this set perfect would be to have the full dozen sizes you can get in other sets (which also have 6.5mm, 7mm, and 8mm hooks) with a case that would hold them all. Since I generally just use the wooden hooks in the larger sizes anyway, that is not a real problem.Oh, and I did NOT receive this set at a discount for my "unbiased" opinion. I hate the shill reviews and the ratings pollution they cause. I really am pleased with these hooks, and because I have been crocheting for 40 years, I have all the small tools I need, and do not care that they included garbage-grade knitting tools with a set of crochet hooks.

These Are Great!!
Really Nice Kit!!This is a really nice kit for beginner and seasoned crochet buffs alike. I bought these because of the many needle options it gave. I recently started doing Amigurumi and because the stitches can be very tight these needles have saved my poor lil' fingers.😌 I'm in love with the scissors. So sharp and the cap is a definite plus from poking. Got to say the stich counter should have been a push button instead of a manual rotator...can't stop to do that. Darning needles and knitting gauge also plusses😉 How cute are the safety pin style position markers and u get enough just incase you kids want to snatch them for their own(Really, thanks for those). Overall my favorite kit so far and I've spent a good penny on the Clover kit and a Bamboo kit not to mention a few singlet hook buys. The needles feel good in your hands and before you know it your done! Will buy another kit for my daughters soon. The price was right and although low, the quality of the needles supersedes it. You will certainly be pleased with this buy. Iwas!!!

Exactly as advertised and a great buy
I received this set today and I already love it without ever having used it. The hooks feel good in my hand and the set is in a nice, very compact case. All the extra supplies fit nicely in the zipper pocket. The only thing I did was put the yarn needles and stitch pins in better plastic zipper bags. I wanted a nice, compact set that would travel with me without issue and this set fills the bill.Update -- I have already used these hooks to complete a couple of small projects and they functioned nicely. I use the needles and the yarn snips more than I thought I might. This is quite a good set.

Great kit for beginners or a step up for ol'school crocheter!
What a great set! This could be awesome for someone just starting out or someone like me, I have all of these hooks without the ergo and the grip is getting harder (rotator cuff injury) and my arm falls asleep while I'm crocheting. The kit has stitch markers, mini snip scissors, darning needles for finishing work, stitch counter, gauge ruler and a nice set of hooks all in a handy zippered package. Easily can be added to bag or purse for trips. I'm impressed.
