We are a family business with the aim of bringing to the market new sustainable products which will be loved by our customers as well as by our ocean friends! We are also committed to giving something back and we do so by donating a proportion of our proceedings to conservation charities. Why is bamboo better than plastic for the environment? Did you know that there are 7.7bn people on earth? This means that billions of plastic toothbrushes are thrown away each year! Plastic toothbrushes take over 400 years to decompose. Bamboo is a very sustainable crop; it is a fast growing grass, it requires no fertiliser and self-regenerates from its own roots, so there is no need for replanting. When compared to cotton cultivation, which requires large amounts of water, pesticides and labour, the advantages are pretty clear. Depending on how it is disposed of, bamboo will take between a few months and a few years to decompose. The best way to dispose of the bamboo is to place it in a compost bin or into soil. Our bristles We make our bristles from the industry standard Nylon-6, they are BPA-free and recyclable. Currently, there is no alternative compostable product for toothbrush bristles which will deliver the same quality of oral hygiene.
