Bad Blood

Family, friends, and relationships
This book was ok! It took me a while to finish reading, as it's not your normal Mary Monroe book like, "Mama Ruby". It had some of the same premises of REVENGE,but it was a forceful finish.Interesting about the book was that it was centered around mental illness and the reason one of the main characters could not secure love. The book clearly highlighted how mental illness is real; however, there are degrees and some level of control that can exist.I rated the book a 3 star because I forced myself to finish and I just wanted it to be over. The book ended with everyone learning their individual lessons, and both protagonists having a happy ever after. The ending was a bit unrealistic because although forgiveness is huge, some people you have to forgive and love from afar.

She did it again!!!
I've been a fan of Ms. Monroe's work for years and she never disappoints! I enjoyed the story and I thought it was well written and it just drew me in. I read it in a day because I couldn't put it down. The characters were dealing with real issues and I loved the humor added in along the way.Unfortunately there are a lot of women like Rachel who mean well and have the best intentions, but so blinded my love and the idea of the "happily ever after" to realize what's going on before it's too late. I think if she had slowed down a lil and paid more attention to the red flags early on, then it wouldn't have gotten that far. I do however, think she should have told him about her family before meeting them. While I didn't necessarily approve of her actions, I understand how she felt it was justified.Poor Seth... I think his family had him screwed up from an early age. He was spoiled and selfish before he even met Rachel and was used to having things his way. I think he should've broken it off with her sooner. I'm not sure what's worse- what he did to Rachel or HOW he did it. I did feel a lil sorry for him though because he was trying to please his family too much and he had added pressure because of his past. Still, Seth was getting exactly what he deserved. Overall great read.My only disappointment? Waiting so long for another one of Monroe's masterpieces!!!

Life is a bummer rang
This book was so exciting and full of action .It kept my attention through out the entire book.It teaches a good life message. You cant go around using and mistreating people without consequences. This will make a good read for anyone who cant let go of hurt feelings.

A Romance filled with Karma
Great Book, I loved the way the story looked at mental illness, a subject that is rarely addressed by most people. The characters were well developed and it was difficult to pick out a favorite. The idea of bad karma is certainly possible but what happens to the person who delivers the bad karma. This book definitely provided insight how life can be full of twist and turns no matter what our personal plans and goals may be

Simpleminded
I was very disappointed in this book. All this shallow, borderline dumb characters. Just painful to read these dialogues between the characters. I used to enjoy these author's books, so I'm not sure if this was just a bad book or if my taste in books changed.

I love it! Mary Monroe is a very good writer
I am on Chapter 5 and I can't put the book down. I love it! Mary Monroe is a very good writer. Some of her books are not that good and didn't keep my attention but most of them did. I love this book! It's definitely keeping my attention! I can't wait to read the next new books. I just got finished ready Mama Ruby again! I love both of the Ruby books. A lot of energy!!!!

Page Turner
We read this book with Somethin Wit Hair book club. I was somewhat reluctant to read the book when it was selected, and it has been awhile since we read Mary Monroe. We loved the book and the lessons to be learned about karma. Be careful how you treat others.

I think Rachel was a good Sister to her siblings and her Mother was a ...
Well Mary I'll have to say this book is also a page-turner but it keeps you wondering what's going to happen next. And then it goes back to how Rachel and Seth met (by her friend Lucy of course) and it goes back and forth about their professions and family lives. I think Rachel was a good Sister to her siblings and her Mother was a good mother to her kids although they were slow and altristic if I even spelled the word correctly, but overall I still think it was a slow good read as all of your books are. So I giving you five (5) stars for this book also.Take Care! And I can't wait to see what you come up with next! (Ha! Ha!)Penny
