Superior Spanish Saffron Threads 5-Gram Acrylic Box Cat.1_AB

I was disappointed with saffron from local grocery stores so i wanted to try ordering through amazon. This was definitely good quality saffron with great flavor and aroma at an affordable price! To test the quality, Saffron should turn warm water bright yellow after a brief soak, which it did. I usually make a lot of desserts and saffron adds brilliant color, flavor, and aroma to them. Pleased with the purchase!

My husband is a hobby chef and loves Saffron so for his birthday I added this to his gift list. He absolutely loved it, the dish turned out very tasty and the price point was great!

This is great saffron and a great price. Nice long threads, and they come in a really nice clear acrylic box that protects the thread both in shipping and in the cupboard. Has a great flavor and aroma. This is an excellent value, as you get a lot of saffron for a very fair price. I will be ordering more when this runs out!

It is really hard to beat saffron of this quality at such a reasonable price. Is this the highest quality saffron you can possibly buy? No, but unless you are willing to spend five times as much for nominal gains, you will likely be quite happy with your purchase. Both color and aroma are very good.I have made half a dozen paellas with this saffron and have been quite pleased. I find that in this case a "pinch of saffron" tends to run a bit large, but in all fairness my partner and I prefer paella with a pronounced saffron coloring, aroma and flavor. Again, at this price point you can afford to throw a few extra threads in a dish. As a further anecdotal endorsement I have seen the same brand of saffron available at markets in Asturias and Galicia. At a tad over $5 a gram this a great saffron!

This item has such a great price that I could not rate it lower than 5-stars. It can definitely be your everyday saffron.Just don't expect it to have the greatest aroma or color intensity compared to other (more expensive) saffron on Amazon.Also, it's not as dry as some of the other saffron I've had before, so grinding it into a powder takes a bit more effort.Its potency is not as great (need to use more to achieve similar color intensity compared to other saffron.)THAT SAID-- I still rate it 5-stars, and I highly recommend this saffron as your "daily driver"! Can't make Persian dishes without Zafran.

SOMEHOW THE TASTE DID NOT SATISFY ME AS THE PREVIOUS ORDER WHICH WAS RATHER SMALL BUT MORE OF A FLAVOR I EXPERIENCED IN CUBA IN MY TEEN YEARS, OF ANCESTORS FROM LA CORUNA - GALICIA AND THEIR CULINARY CUSTOMS. ( AZAFRAN WAS ALWAYS PART OF THE CONDIMENTS )THIS ONE ALTHOUGH THE QUANTITY IS LARGER WHICH IS WELCOMED BY ME, SOMEHOW THE FLAVOR IS SO SO AND BIGGER IS NOT ALWAYS BETTER.
