Water distiller
Great machine. Has saved me enough money that it has almost paid for itself already this summer. It is for water distilling only. NOT FOR DISTILLATION OF ALCOHOL. (Before you ask)

good customer service
I had an issue with my distiller and the company sent me a new one. Great customer service for an affordable distiller.

Get yourself a timer you plug the pot into no matter which distiller you buy.
There are many similar products and I mean many, I've owned two previous Water Distillers and this one is by far the better of the three, The first one did have a glass container which I used with all three, much better than the plastic. But I paid $150 dollars for it but it broke down within the first year. But right now I will tell you the most important thing you will need is a Timer, the type you plug into the wall socket and plug the cord from the Distiller into, set it for 3 hours and not more, for the best performance. It will leave a few inches in the pot but if you don't, the pot could be very difficult to clean. I scrub mine with a stainless steel pad, which works very well. But this is very important, I'd buy the timer and not attempt to use it until you have the timer. Any way, I tried to repair it but the fan blade hole was roughed up so it was toast. So I bought number 2, it was very good for about a year and a half, the electrical connectors had a problem so I took the ones off the first pot and put them on it and it functioned well for another year, but then a couple months ago it too overheated so I decided to buy this one, and I'm telling you this is a very well made product, both previous tanks had ridges which made it difficult to clean but of course I was living in Boston area at the time I bought both others, so the water was very bad and had lots of chemicals so I gave both pots a workout though only ran them once a day. I'm living on the Kansas Prairie now and have an excellent source of water but I still only drink Distilled water and even in my cooking I only use distilled water. The pot is easier to clean than the others and I do clean it after every pot, let it cool down then use the ss scrubber sometimes if needed I use table salt to scrub it but I still have the chemicals they sent with both the others, I prefer table salt for cleaning the stainless steel. But it only takes a few minutes and then fill to the fill line and you're ready to go. This pot is about 6 ounces bigger as well. You can buy yourself a glass container for the water cheap, so why spend 150 when you can get this one for under 75? that's half the price. But remember the timer, I picked mine up at the local hardware store for about 7 bucks. you might even find one on Amazon for about the same price. You can see in my photos I keep a good supply of Distilled water on hand at all times. employing former Brandy bottles and Apple Cider Vinegar with the mother bottles, first they go into the Brandy Bottles then they're used to fill the vinegar bottles and I rotate to use up the oldest first in both cases. I'm retired so I have nothing better to do. I'm a Natural Foods Vegetarian and even at 67 years old I take no meds none, so may I add "To Your Health"!

working distiller
This machine works a advertised, making unflavored pure distilled water. It makes about a gallon in approximately 4 hours. Our tap water is very hard, so machine needs cleaned after every use, but it came with n acid-based cleaner. The rating for flavor is irrelevant. The machine has no flavor; distilled water has no flavor.

Works great
In the last three months I have made well over a 100 gallons of water so far. I use it in my humidifier, CPAP and coffee maker. I found that a mixture of half water and half lemon juice does a good job of cleaning the tank, just have to leave it until the calcium is dissolved. Where I live the water has a strong chlorine smell and even distilling did not remove it all. I did some research and found that by boiling the water first it would dissipate the chlorine so the distilled water had no chlorine odor. You could add the boiled water to the distiller to make the distilled water quicker but I prefer to let it cool down so I am not handling boiling water. The machine has already paid for itself and I no longer have to lug heavy jugs of water from the store each week. The main reason I purchased it in the first place was because I was having a hard time finding distilled water in the stores.

Cheap hardware
Distiller works fine for its purpose. However, the power button pretty much fell apart after about 3 months of use. Its pretty obvious where this was manufactured as the components are cheap. This particular device will not stand the test of time with such poor manufacture.
