No more hours sifting through hay!
This hay is great! I have a couple really picky eaters, but this hay has their approval. I have tried all the Timothy Hay at a big box pet shop, and they would only eat the brand, Timothy Gold. I would sit for a couple hours a day sifting through trying to pick out the acceptable pieces. I finally had enough of the time spent sorting through it and went on a hay hunt. Found this Standlee brand and I got lucky! I can just grab a bunch and fill their tray - no more sifting through the hay! The hay is nice and green and in perfect size pieces for my bunnies. It also is super that it’s hand packed unlike the other brand that’s just mass bagged and you end up paying for unusable hay.

Picky Piggies not Impressed
My picky piggies didn't like the other timothy hay much anymore so I thought I'd switch it up with a new brand. The hay was a little hard to get out of the bag without making a mess it was kind of caught up in an endless twisted line of hay. This isn't that unusual with hay but the bag doesn't have much extra on top to catch it as you pull it out for the first few times. The plastic thingy doesn't go back on either so you need to have a good clip handy or a plastic container to empty it into. It's more like first cut but with not a ton of flowers mixed in so I was a little disappointed as one of my girls loves the flowers most of all. They do eat it and I have three or four types of hay available for them to nibble on but I am not sure I will order this brand again. I wish it had a date when harvested on the bag. I haven't seen one on other hay I've purchased either though and I suppose it would deter business if someone saw how old the hay might be. I think rabbits would probably like this hay more though my experience with rabbits is minimal.

First hay my 2 chinchillas enjoy eating every day
I have tried all the brands and all the different cuttings. Usually my chinchillas will eat a new kind of hay for a day or two for the novelty but after that they’ll only nibble here and there. This is the first brand they actually religiously eat every night. As long as I put fresh in their cage daily they come right for it. Came with a great smell that has lasted all month, had both the long soft strands and the seed heads and pretty much no dust in the bag at all. The strands were long and not brittle or crumbly. I actually really like the smell of it. And the price is well worth it especially since I didn’t end up throwing away half a bag of dust afterwards.

Hit or miss
The 1st couple bags of this I bought were amazing. My guinea pigs went crazy for this stuff. The last few bags I've had have been more rough and stalky pieces that they won't touch. I have tried so many kinds of hay and this was the winner with them. Especially for the price. I'm hoping maybe it was just a bad batch, but it's still fresh and my girls still love the edible parts. Just sucks to have to throw most of it away. Hoping for better bags soon!

Best Hay on Amazon for Guinea Pigs
I've been a regular for Small Pet Select hay for my guinea pigs. But its been inconsistent in quality lately and my pigs seem to waste a lot of the hay (pull it out of their hay holder but don't eat it). Just got the 48oz bag of Standlee Hay for them and immediately I like it more. Its softer, greener and watching the pigs, they seem to eat every piece they pull out. And that makes me a lot happier because I don't have to clean out as much of the old hay. Ordered the 25lb box now. Assuming its the same quality as the 48oz bag, my piggies and I are happy!

Very fresh but too tough and coarse for my piggies
Very tough Timothy hay. It is a great buy, and my piggies enjoyed the switch up in texture but it is really really tough and they were less enthusiastic about it, especially after several days.On the other hand, if a more coarse hay is something you look for then also know it is very very fresh and smells great.

My Rabbit LOVES it
Its funny for me to give a five star flavor rating for grass, mostly because I don't eat it myself. What I do see is my rabbit loves this compared to the brand I was using before, he would pick out the parts he liked and leave the rest. With this he is eating every bit. I will be using Timothy grass from now on.
