Math Refresher for Adults: The Perfect Solution (Mastering Essential Math Skills)

Just needed something to brush up my maths with, and found this book. It’s a really good purchase for any adult wanting to do the same.

I had bought this book, which was quite expensive at over £32, thinking that it would be a textbook with step by step methods on areas of mathematics with some exercises to do by yourself. However, it turned out to simply be just an exercise book, with loads of problems and very little explanation on HOW to solve the questions it gives you. Disappointed - almost willing to call it a waste of money as you can buy maths exercise books for much cheaper and with step by step solutions included in it.My advice? Don't buy it.

*When I looked for a Maths skills bok, I specifically requested a 'Text' book, but want transpired was an 'Exercise' book. It was particularly the explanation of the different maths strategies than I wanted to impart, so unfortunately, as stated above, this book did not obviously meet that brief, being literally simply examples to complete without the required explanation.

It can be hard getting into homework as an adult, but this book makes it easy!

Got this for my wife for Christmas! I know, killer gift right!! After 45 years of marriage I suddenly learn that she has a passion for doing math equations! Who knew!!! Instead of doing Sudoku, she wants to help keep her mind sharp by doing math equations. I also slipped in the latest version of TurboTax as a bonus for her. I'm such a great guy! Get this book and keep your mind sharp too! 1+3=5

This is a workbook, not an explainer.The book itself is one big exam with very few lessons (all the lessons are online videos)Complete waste of money.

I am going back to school after almost 2 decades away, and this book has really improved my sense of self esteem when it comes to math. I have always struggled with it my entire life, but the accompanying videos with Mr. Fisher's clear and to the point explanation of the problems at hand have really changed the game for me. After decades of feeling "dumb" when it comes to math, I have now realized that I just needed someone to explain it to me in a way with no other distractions and padding. I appreciate this so much. This could possibly be one of the best things I've purchased on Amazon.

This book was exactly what I was looking for. Straight from scratch workbook, excellent to-the-point online tutorial. I had no hangups working through the book and finding what I needed on the website if I got a little stuck. Very impressed with the layout and how many problems one gets to work through. Would definitely check out more math topics through Fisher if he has more. No need for a calculator.
