I’ve been using this product for a few years since I started styling my hair more naturally, it’s a great hard hold gel that lightweight finer texture wavy haired people can use. It gives my hair a great cast and holds my waves for a days. I also use it for my boys hair and it keeps my active 4 & 5 year old sons’ hair in place all day.Pros: solid cast, great for finer hair textures, use sparsely for best results, no weird scents and can be used for any gender.Cons: very sticky consistency and needs to be emulsified with water before using, and if you use too much it can leave flakes in your hair

I love this gel so much. It's got incredible hold, and wavy fine hair needs more hold than you'd think. This stuff doesn't weigh my hair down or leave residue/stickiness, but it does create a really good cast and then breaks up beautifully when you scrunch it out. My hair stays in defined curl clumps pretty much all day, even when it's humid. I think people who have had trouble with this gel aren't properly emulsifying it prior to application. You need to add a little water to your hands and rub it between your palms really well. It will look white and a little frothy when it's properly emulsified, and then it absorbs into your hair follicles nicely.

Love that this gives a good cast. Nice clear gel, crunches out very easily leaving soft waves and curls. I have type 2b/c waves and curls, I have to manipulate some sections to encourage curls with twisting, some sections curled on their own. I paired with a shea Manila honey yogurt leave in spray- everything was shiny and smooth- no dry frizz. Day 1 no flaking.The smell is okay. Very “salon product” smelling, but scent is completely secondary to me if the product does what I hope.Will probably keep. Still looking for a magic gel that gives thick curl clumps, but it may not be possible for my hair type.Plan

I have a super old version of this gel that I bought 15 years ago, which I've always loved, but it's about to end. The newer formula seems to work as well as the old one. I have a lot of thin, dry, broken, curly baby hair around my forehead. This gel tames this hair pretty well, while defining curls without turning them into an unsightly "hard rock" (despite the name of the product). So my hair ends up tamed and defined, but soft. I definitely recommend it.

Best gel ever! I am so surprised. I have curly hair and have tried soooo many gels but this one is the best. I get a great cast and my hair is less frizzy and shinier than normal. Highly recommend

My Wife and I have used the Biosilk Rock Hard Gelee for years and really like how it holds your hair in place. The only reason I did not rate it higher was because the seller I purchased this product from is very unscrupulous and their product page is very misleading. When I confronted them they just basically ignored my requests. I will but the product again but will NEVER do business with this seller

I put this on my hair while it’s soaking wet. When my hair dries it’s a little hard. I then softly scrunch my curls a bit and it breaks it up and my curls are then so soft. A little bit goes a long way.
