Third and best of the Pono Hawkins books
In this episode, we have Pono going up against an Islamist plot to 1-Kill Pono's friends and 2-blow up Paris with a suitcase nuke. I found this a refreshing change from the murderous power companies who were the villains in the first two books. Paris, France, and in a general way, Europe are in a pickle. The traditions of decency and law work against the survival of Western Culture. Pono races through some bad, Muslim majority areas of Paris, trying to save his friends and avert a nuke attack on the City of Light. We get a ride as fast as a souped up Indian motorcycle can go. What made the story for me was the way Pono emotionally evaluated every move he made. I can't be easy doing what he does. Of course, Pono being Pono finds female companionship. That seems to take off some of his rougher edges. Recommended for thriller fans.

Many distractions and details
I thought the author tried to tell us everything he knew about every site and landmark in Paris. The story stalled out in all the details. I grew tired of the politics when it didn’t move the story forward. I grew tired of the book by halfway through but I stuck with it to the end. This is probably the end of Mike Bond novels for me.

travelogue?
I’m a fan of Bond and admire his diction, dynamics and detail. However, this book is too much into detail of places and things to the point of following a bread trail to find the sustenance you paid for.I’ll keep following him, but hoping for the better to come.

Politics
Mike, you need to take your MAGA hat off when you are writing. Stories are good and suspenseful. I would like to see more action.David

Paris has a new flavor and a new hero
The expanding Muslim population has begun to change Paris. Some neighborhoods reflect the relative newcomers with new businesses, priorities and agendas. And the French police navigate this reality with care, attempting to perform their jobs amongst distrust and cultural differences. Special forces veteran Pono Hawkins gets dropped into the middle of this when he tries to find out what happened to his friend who had been investigating an old enemy. He teams with a French intelligence agent, but few leads remain. Hawkins suspects the disappearance, which expands to include his friend's wife, has to do with a terrorist he's perhaps more familiar with than anybody else. That terrorist is purportedly in the country but effectively remains off the radar frustrating everyone, especially as time passes. But Hawkins forges onward, discovering more about the terrorist networks in the European city and the apathy amongst citizens of Middle Eastern descent. Author Mike Bond does a good job in pacing the action in "Goodbye Paris," the third in the Pono Hawkins series. Hawkins pits his skills against those of an organization so grafted into the shadows that it seems nothing can drag it into the light. Bond turns up the heat in the latter part of his novel, giving his protagonist a dramatic way to solve the puzzle.

Really Good Read EXCEPT ....
Great pacing. Never a dull moment, BUT QuiT using the word SNICKER!!!! in any form! IN ALL YOUR NOVELS YOU USE THAT CHILDISH WORD. Your editor should long ago have used his red pencil!
