Very, very easy to install.
The only thing to do during installation is to find a solid metallic part to bolt the plug frame to. Do NOT attach to the plastic bumper cover.

Mis-Wired
This item does not have a good quality control process. My order is like some of the others that arrived with the wires connected to the wrong internal blade positions. I installed it without giving a thought that there would be a defect.I bought this to make a 4-way plug (on the vehicle) connect with with a 7-way plug (coming from a trailer) I was purchasing. Yes, the 7-way plug on the trailer has the circuit for electric brakes. However my intent was to pull this trailer empty, transporting it 500 miles one way and at least have running and signal lighting. I found the defect when I plugged the trailer in at the purchase location. The adapter was not working correctly as the right signal on the vehicle flashed and the left signal flashed on the trailer and visa-versa. The running lights did not illuminate at all. With a 500 mile trip back with the trailer, I decided to leave it unplugged as not to confuse anyone following me as to which way I was really going to turn. I ran out of daylight and ended up driving 3 hours in the dark without trailer lights which I found to be very stressful. The next day, I looked at the reviews and saw others having the same issues. I took the plug apart and confirmed that the wires were put into the wrong slots. The fix was simple, all that is needed to remedy was a phillips screwdriver and the ability to read and not be colorblind, as each slot is labeled to match the wire colors. If you end up buying one of these, I would just take it apart to verify all is wired correctly before installing it on your vehicle (if you don't already have the trailer available to test plug it in before you mount it.) It might be a good idea (if you have to take it apart) to use some Die-Electric Grease on the connections as the plug construction looks like it might be susceptible to corrosion. I have to give this ONE STAR as to the quality control aspect, materials, and the stress level it needlessly caused. It did work after I corrected the mis-wiring issue though. The pictures are showing the wires where they were when I took the plug apart.

Didn't Work Out of the Package
This did not work at all. The wires connect fine but they will not run power to the lights on the trailer. I had to completely take it apart and rewire it to make it work. Whoever assembled it wired it as though it was connecting a 4-pin trailer to a 7-way vehicle adapter and not the way it was intended to be used.
