Work’s great!
Moved to southern Mississippi and not a fan of all the bigs. This product was black within a couple months. Small bugs to may flies and even spiders. I bought this one and a green color at the same time. Both of them were filled with bugs so fast I couldn’t believe it.

Does Not Catch Biting Flies
I had previously ordered the RESCUE! TrapStik for Wasps (now discontinued) and was very impressed with the results. Based on that experience, I was excited to try this TrapStik to catch biting flies (horse flies) that seem to frequent the area around our swimming pool. Unfortunately, this trap simply does not attract biting flies. Although there are plenty of horse flies around and the trap appears sticky enough to hold any insect, its "VisiLure" pattern is approximately 0% effective at luring biting flies of any kind. I've had one of these traps near our pool for over a month and it has yet to catch a single biting fly. It has caught some house flies, moths, and a few wasps/bees... but really not that many compared to the length of time it has been hanging. Although I can see how it might be possible, no birds, bats, or other wildlife got stuck on the trap during the month it was up. Bottom line, this trap does not work at all for biting flies and is about as effective as regular fly paper for other insects... would definitely NOT recommend as a biting fly trap...

Bug catcher
I liked the cage to keep from trapping humming birds or butterflies. It’s a great way to trap flies during the summer.

Catches some biting insects - but the horse flys can free themselves!
Where are my biting flies? Well, our south Alabama horse flies that feed on pool swimmers are actually able to pull themselves across the glue then get one leg at the time onto the plastic caps at the top or bottom and free themselves - I’ve watched a few of them do this. But, we have captured quite a few other biting/stinging people attacking flying creatures here, so while our “biting flies” are able to outsmart this “biting fly trap” - I guess it isn’t a total bust. But I wouldn’t get that new model that is bird friendly... I’m sure that it’s easier for the bugs to get a leg up on it too. We haven’t had any birds interested in ours at all... and we have lots of birds. Maybe bc ours is on a pole out in the open by the pool??? Just a thought... I wouldn’t put it under the eve of a house in a shady place that a bird might be attracted to... just in case.

Works for me - though expensive
Used these in the garage (seemed more effective than flypaper) .... also put one outside near the garden - full of flies in a few days - and so a bit expensive for that application. Used in house - they don't have an odor -- but as you can imagine they are sticky so need to be careful nothing else gets on them... Had an infestation of fruit flies and ground hornets in the raspberry patch, so used them and they did work - but if they get wet they will deteriorate. Now - will they catch biting flies .... there was one buzzing a table outside and I think we got him.So 4 given the expense and the outdoor deterioration which drops it from a 5

Works great, placement is key
This works great, don't listen to bad reviews. Placement is key. You will get lots of flys and some bees etc. Easy to install. I do like the yellow jacket green one better, it gets both better.

Does not work so not waste your $
Truly. This item has been moved around every few days to try and catch insects to no avail. It was an absolute waste of money. We've been using it for over 6 months and nothing... And I do mean nothing has been caught. If you're reading this, seriously, do not purchase.

These are great for outside so the birds don't get stuck.
I had used these without the cage and had a problem with birds getting too close and getting stuck. The cage is perfect for outside. Really attracts flies and it pretty design.
