The product works fine, as I did a test run to check my wiring on my new gauges before I installed the sending unit in my tank.The picture shows the overall height of the unit as 300mm (11.81"). My tank is just over 12" deep, so I figured I'd have a little room to spare and just never actually be empty.The problem is, the travel is 300mm, not the overall height, as shown in the picture.Because I waited for my gauges to come in (backordered from a different OEM), I'm not beyond the return period and stuck with a sending unit I have no use for.

Bottom of the sending unit is 1/4 inch from the gas tank bottom. It's a 12gal tank. I can shake the gas tank and it will move but only when it brings the gas up high enough. I thought it was my wiring until I shifted my weight on the Boat and seen the gauge go up.

The sensor lacks resolution at the low end making my tank look 1/4 full when it is about at 1/8 and the dropping to empty very steeply.Also, pay close attention to the size of the hole in your fuel tank. The hole in mine was just a little too small for this float to fit through it. I had to file the float down significantly about 1 1/2 mm to get it to fit.

The picture of the sizes is wrong. It shows the length as 400mm from top of unit to bottom and it is actually 400mm from bottom of the flange to the bottom of unit.

Just remove old sender and install new. NO measuring and adjusting length or cutting float arm to fit . Buy correct length unit and proper resistance range and only wiring and install. NOTE that 300 mm sender fits 12" depth tank perfectly. I highly recommend this item.

I purchased this unit for my Nordic Tug. It is an excellent design of spectacular quality and I have every confidence it last for many many years!

Did not work straight out of the box... Installed it anyway but still nothing... The ordered a different brand and it was great now

I purchased a 250mm 240-33ohm version. The construction of this sensor is actually very good. It is indeed made of stainless steel, and has a good quality pigtail on it. As some others have mentioned, there are actually only 5 discrete resistance values for various level ranges, and the lowest 2 readings I get are 0 and 1/4 tank. Ultimately I don't think this is much of a problem, as in a boat, you should consider less than 1/4 tank empty anyway. I used this in a golf cart, and I will likely be purchasing another one for my other cart.
