Sweet Dreams, Supergirl (DC Super Heroes)

DC SuperHero Girls fanatics approved
The only thing bad about this book is that it was clearly written such that ANY superhero could be drawn on the page. Supergirl's name is mentioned ONCE on the last page. I personally like "Bedtime for Batman" better, but my kids love both books equally.

So cute!
A great book for a little girl. When her dad finished reading it to her the first time, she said 'again'.

The perfect bedtime story for your little superheroes!
This is the perfect bedtime story book for all those budding little superheroes out there. Very much like Michael Dahl's other DC superhero picture books, Sweet Dreams, Supergirl is a fun and brightly illustrated read full of action and excitement. It's a great reminder that even superheroes have to wind down at the end of a long, action-filled day.The full page illustrations feature both Supergirl (as well as a few of her super friends) and a little girl who is just as super. It contrasts the hardships of the day with getting ready for bed in a comic book style that is lots of fun.I especially loved that the book on her nightstand and that her mother reads to her at night is so obviously The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien. It's one of my favorites so it stood out, though I have no idea what it has to do with superheroes.Want something similar with male heroes? Bedtime for Batman and Good Morning, Superman may do the trick!

Its brilliant how the illustration just easily and maybe even accurately ...
One Line Review: We are all unsung heroes. The easiest five stars I’ve ever given. The side by side comparisons between the hero and the actual characters is just perfectly done. Its brilliant how the illustration just easily and maybe even accurately displays the normal every day things that people do as a direct reflection to what a Superhero does. Especially the page where the parents, our usually forgotten and unspoken heroes, are also remembered. It indirectly hints at several important lessons such as appreciating the people around you, needing help whenever a crisis arises or whenever you find yourself weak just take a break, rest and then fight back! Not to mention, the illustrations are just extraordinary! Simply the best bedtime story there is.

Cute, Fails to meet standards of the series
I feel like my 3 star rating may be a little harsh, but at the same time, this book fails to capture the awe and wonder of the initial 3 books in the series. There is no comparison to a superhero, only slight link that insinuates a superhero eventually follows the same path as the child. It is ok, but it pales in comparison to the others.

Great story to tell your daughter
Bought this as an alternative bedtime story. It is short and does give an air of adventure which I’m sure will give my daughter a good outlook overall, with its empowering message.
