Inaccurate from page one
St Patrick's day started as a religious holiday in Ireland and the country had only recently begun to capitalize on the rest of thr world's enthusiasm to celebrate by drinking. This book indicates that it's nothing more than a reason to drink. Inaccurate and disappointing

Great book for preschool teachers 0-3yr olds
Love this board book. I purchased it to add to my library of Holiday board books for my 0-3 yr old classroom. Talks about the symbols of St Patrick’s Day on each page, with one word print and large pictures. Had to preorder and wait for release date but shipped and arrived quickly once released. I was kept informed about the ship/release date.

This is a really cute book with cute content. However wherever this came from the book was very scratched up and used looking. I couldn’t give that to a fancy baby with fancy parents.

Irish Traditions
Bought this for my grand daughter for her first St Patrick’s Day. Very cute book that shows pictures of all aspects of this holiday celebration. A book she can look at every year!!

Disappointed - not symbolic of an Irish St Patrick’s day at all.
Not hugely impressed with this book. It’s a mix of photos and illustrations, kind of like what you put together for a school project. It’s lists st Patrick’s day as a “party day” which isn’t true. Perhaps in America but not Ireland. It’s a very special, symbolic and historic religious day for Irish people. The patron Saint, St Patrick is glossed over with no explanation as to who or what he is. So not much learning to be had here. A shame as other books in this series are quite informative. I think it trivialises a special national day as something of a joke party atmosphere. The opening page for instance is of an American St Patrick’s day parade that a school marching band might put on which isn’t Irish or authentic at all. I would say this book is for the American market or audience and wouldn’t recommend this book for a school or for people who are actually Irish and want to teach their kids about St Patrick’s day.And the picture of soda bread isn’t even a picture of soda bread, it’s a fruit scone which is called a biscuit, I believe, in America.

A little too stereotypical for me
As an Irish family with our younger daughter about to celebrate her first St Patrick's Day I thought this would be a nice addition to our book collection. I actually thought this was a touch and feel book as we have quite a few of those from DK and my daughters both love them, but it's not, it's a regular board book with gloss pages and a soft cover. The quality is good but to be honest I find the content a little poor and filled with stereotypes, which is understandably because this book is aimed at babies and toddlers, but I still feel a bit cringe reading it to my daughters, especially when it gets to the part about a pot of gold and leprechauns.A nice colourful book but not destined to be a favourite in our house.

🌈 💰 Ireland’s party day ☘️
A lovely children’s book to describe St Patrick’s day. It describes it as Ireland’s party day, and is taken after St Patrick. It describes soda bread, shamrocks and how people like to dress up in green. The pages are made from cardboard rather than paper which will avoid paper cuts to children and make it much more sturdy. The book has a cushioned front and is likely that babies could put in their mouths and not damage it. Simple words and pictures to describe and show what it is all about. 5* does what it is suppose to and gives us Irish people a bad name for partying.
