Excellent and very inclusive!
Was so happy to find this inclusive design book for a budding clothing designers! Book has visuals and information about inclusive design for all bodies, sizes, abilities, genders, etc. Includes visual representation (illustrations) of people who are BIPOC, people in wheelchairs/with canes, sizes XXXXL TO XS, non-binary gender and other design considerations.

Fun Book, But I Think Having The First One As Companion Better Way To Go
I am an artist. I have a daughter who also is an artist. We both love to design clothing. I have been doing it most of my life. I am always interested in learning from others who draw their designs. There is always something you can pick up. Let's take a look at this book both from an artist's and beginner's perspective.LAYOUT OF THE BOOKThis book is laid out very well. Each section is marked well and you can thumb through the book without having to read each page. It is very visual for those who learn best by seeing illustrations.SECTIONSThis book has a nice section for tools, figure drawing, adapting for special needs, and then working through different design types and how to lay them out.WHAT IS THIS BOOK'S FOCUS?After reading through this book, I honestly feel personally that I would prefer to have both the first book in this series by the author AND this book as a workshop using what is learned in the first book. I ordered it but it has not come yet. I am speaking as someone thinking about when I first started out as an artist and needed more instruction.IS THIS EASY TO USE?As a unit in itself, this book is easy to use and if you happen to be a highly motivated individual with a lot of spare time and energy (my daughter is like that) this book would be a piece of cake to jump start you off into new directions of fashion design. For those who take longer to learn, there is a lot in here to help, but basic instructions would probably be best attained through the first book by the same author and this one in tandem.THE BOTTOM LINEThis book is well laid out for visual learners. There are many good illustrations, both of tools and how to draw. There is good organization. I find that this book is good to motivate drawing for those who really want to explore this direction in fashion design.MY RATINGFOUR STARS. I don't think that this has a lot of basic information in it for those who really need to be shown how to walk step by step through a concept to learn it. If you are already an artist who just needs inspiration, then this book would probably be a five stars for you.If you are just starting out, I highly suggest getting the first book first by the author and then seeing if this is what you want to follow up with.

A book not only for designers, but also for artists
"Fashion Design Workshop: Remix. A modern, inclusive, and diverse approach to fashion illustration for up-and-coming designers" was created by Stephanie Corfee and published by Quarto Publishing Group – Walter Foster. The book contains six chapters: 1) Getting Started, 2) Express Yourself, 3) Iconic Design: Step-by-Step Projects, 4) Everyday Fashion: Step-by-Step Projects, 5) Special Occasions: Step-by-Step Projects, and 6) Design a Line. Corfee states that "Fashion is for everyone - and it's definitely not a one-size-fits-all game" (p. 16). She shows this with the designs she presents for various body types. They are not only for "stick-thin-runway models", but also "normal-shaped humans". She also included a section about "adaptive apparel" for people with disabilities (p. 18) which I highly appreciated. The "Tips" and "Helpful Tips", e.g. about figure building are a great help to the designers as well as the various templates that can used as a basis for the design work."Fashion Design Workshop: Remix" is a valuable book for fashion designer for whom I highly recommend this book, but I also recommend it as much for artists who like to draw or paint humans. They can also get a lot of inspiration for their art from this book. For both groups the step-by-step projects can be of great help. The complimentary copy of this book was provided by the publisher through NetGalley free of charge. I was under no obligation to offer a positive review. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.#FashionDesignWorkshopRemix #NetGalley

Exactly where fashion should be going, great ideas
The fashion industry has notoriously favored narrow concepts of beauty defined by whiteness, thinness, and able-bodiedness. This book is at the cutting edge, featuring updated poses and figures to match our increasingly inclusive tastes, giving the reader templates and ideas that include larger sizes, different ethnicities, and people using wheelchairs. Absolutely terrific!Aside from the inclusiveness, which should be a given in all fashion books, the resources are terrific. There is guidance on how to draw, how to find your style, different types of media to create illustrations that are compelling… This book really has everything for any designer at nearly any phase in their learning process, whether a raw beginner or someone much further ahead looking for fresh ideas.EXCELLENT book!

Teaching Art Through Fashion
I received this book in exchange for a fair review. I appreciate the offer and I am happy to do so. This book teaches to create those sleek and stylish fashion sketches. Not only is it going through the stages of a proper drawing, it also presents different body types and characters. I am an Illustrator and the father of an eight year old girl. We love drawing together. Over the years I learned that fashion is a great vehicle to teach about history and art. This book is a lot to chew for younger kids, who are just beginning to understand how to pay attention to proportions and posture. But with little steps this book is fun for many, and from my parental view more enjoyable than tracing Disney princesses or coloring dogs on patrol. What I really like is that it teaches to work with stick figures. It brings doodling to a whole new level. And even my wife has to admit that it’s cool to throw down fashion sketches instead of circles and spirals during boring meetings.I hope it helps to make a decision.

Great!
It was a present for a 12 year old girl who is into fashion. She loved it and she says it’s very easy to use with good examples and explanations to how to draw. She also loves that there are different kind of body shapes and people. We definitely recommend it.
