This popcorn maker is awesome! As others have said, coconut oil, flavacol and kernels and you’ll think you just walked into the nearest AMC. I also recommend getting a butter spray bottle and some butter flavoring for that over-the-top magic

We bought this so that we could have movie nights at home since theaters are closed. It works great! To get true move-theater taste, do the following:start the heater and stirreradd 1/4 cup coconut oiladd 2 1/2 tsp flavacoladd 1 cup popcornClose the lidClose the doorLet popAfter popping has almost stopped (about the same place you would stop microwave popcorn) turn the heater and stirrer off, and dump the popcorn.You need some kind of buttery topping too, we use LouAna Butter Flavored Topping, but others should work as well. Just be sure they are heated before putting it on top of the popcorn.The base will comfortably hold about 2 batches.For cleaning, wipe the insides with the standard food service bleach/water ratio. For the kettle, take the kettle out, add 1/2 tsp Great Western Kettle Cleaner, and 4 cups of boiling water. Let it set for about 10-15 minutes, empty, and then rinse out well. The outside can be cleaned with regular window cleaner since it does not touch the food.(I came up with the process for popping and cleaning after talking to people who work at movie theaters)

After reading every review for nearly all of the popcorn machines in the $100-$200 price range, we decided to purchase the All Star GNP 850. The unit came packed well and everything was in great shape. We fired it up a few nights ago and after a few test runs using different oil and seasoning measurements, we got the popcorn to come out fantastic. 1/4 cup coconut oil + 1 tsp Flavacol + 4 oz Orville Redenbacher kernels = MOVIE THEATER QUALITY, NO B.S.!The only reason I am giving the machine 4 stars and not 5: Yes, it is awesome for the money — but the build quality is not ideal.First, the flooring and pull out chute should be thicker gauge metal... these pieces feel extremely flimsy and make me feel as if I have to be careful to avoid bending or denting them.Secondly, the door is tempered glass — but the three surrounding panels are all acrylic (plastic). Since we are talking about hot oil spattering the inside of the unit (unavoidable) I feel that all of the clear panels should be glass and not acrylic. Hot oil hitting the acrylic panels can pit the surface over time and ruin the appearance.At the end of the day you have to ask "Is it worth $130?" Yes, absolutely. But I would have gladly paid an additional $20 or so if it had all glass panels and a sturdier metal floor and chute. I really hope the manufacturer takes these comments into consideration and ups their game.

The draw came with a dent and material is soft. The door isn't level to to magnetic to keep it close but different from that it pops great

Bought this for a fundraiser at work for about 250 people. My mistake in not having read through all the reviews and dimensions to know that this is a little smaller than what we needed it for. However, it puts together quickly, is easy to make and pop popcorn. The amount of kernels and oil that comes with it is basically a starter pack for about 1-2 big buckets of popcorn. Definitely purchase extra oil and kernels if you want to feed more than 20 people.

Great popcorn maker. Easy to use but watch out for smoke if try to pop batches without cleaning the kettle between.
