Sun Dancing: A Spiritual Journey on the Red Road

The storytelling is wonderful. There were many passages so inspiring,as well as practical, I could highlight pages...but probably I will just read it again. This book is very informative concerning the traditions of the Lakota people. I was completely unaware previously. I'm happy I learned about this Great Tradition and its spiritual principles.

Very good read, I enjoyed it thoroughly. Informative and uplifting to read. Recommended for people in a spiritual path. Nice!

Yes, its better than a 3, but not quite a 4. remember that's my opinion. It just didn't sit right with me. Know other reviewers have talked about cultural appropriation; my teachers were about bringing the message of healing and spirit to all who were willing to open their minds and hearts, so didn't feel that way. and the Sun Dance and Way of the Pipe are about healing. It just didn't resonate with me as I'd hoped. Maybe it was too much ME ME ME. Don't know.

i decided to write this after the second reading of "sundanceing" i was moved by meny things. the amazing clear teaching of mr. hulls "lakoda friends" given openly to non indian that they had a careing relationship with. his honesty in telling about his feeling of being white in and around native ceremonies, the jouney he made to his sobrity.the doubts he has about carring the obligation of the sundance and the trust in an ever expanding picture of the god of his understanding. his willingness to share his own experrences,stories,visions and teachings open the possiblites i might be able to trust as i move forward in my journey.
