Cheap and flimsy.
Works great at first...but has its problems. The battery doesn't last more than week if the machine is kept on. Requires you to keep it off and turn the dial when you or someone else wants candy; which sort of defeats the purpose of the sanitary hands free design. Speaking of which, the motion sensor stopped working properly after a couple of months. It's also limited to fairly small candies, otherwise it gets clogged. All-in-all, not impressed, but if you want to give it as a gift for someone to keep in their bedroom for personal use, it's a good choice for the price.

Didn't Last!
I was excited to get this for my small office of 5 people. It worked for 2 days (filled with Skittles) and then the auger stopped working. The light would turn on, but nothing happened. It wasn't worth my time to re-package it and go through the hassle of getting a replacement or refund.Fortunately a "tech-y" guy in my office ended up taking it apart and replacing the "quantity adjustment" knob with a push-button that we could push to dispense the candy. It works fine now, but the "auto" part of the dispenser is a thing of the past.I would NEVER recommend this item. Cool idea, lousy product.

Buy stock in Energizer
Against my better judgement I bought this candy dispenser even after reading the reviews of how it chews through batteries. I bought this for my desk at work so we could have treats without passing around germs. It works great when the batteries are not dead. It works with small candies like skittles or larger ones like peanut m&ms. It has a setting for a small serving or for larger serving. The reviews about the batteries are correct though. The batteries last for about 1 day even when I shut it off when leaving for the day. You would definetly spend far more on batteries than candy.

Eats up batteries!
Purchased this dispenser for the office and everyone loves it. However, it eats up batteries just as quickly as the staff eats the candy. We turn off the power when not in use.We have discovered the dispenser will jam and cannot be used for:- Gumballs- Peanut M&M- Pretzel M&MThe turning mechanisim is rubber and items frequently get jammed.

Battery Hog
Works well enough but goes through batteries very quickly. I have found that the 4 AA's don't last longer than 1 - 2 weeks once installed, even with the switch turned to off 98% of the time. Other than that it does exactly what it says it will do.

Fun For All Ages
I bought my first Candy Wizard locally in a store where it was deeply discounted. That was 4 months ago, and it is still working perfectly on its original batteries. At Christmas, I filled it with the red and green M&Ms...for Easter, I filled it with jelly beans. I have also used unsalted, dry roasted peanuts in it. I liked The Candy Wizard so much, I purchased two more of them (one locally and one from Amazon)...one for my young niece and nephew (their parents supervise its usage or it would be empty all of the time) and one (filled with pastel-colored M&Ms, jelly beans, and peanut butter M&Ms) for my 65 year old brother and his wife as an Easter gift. So far, all three Candy Wizards are working great and we all enjoy rewarding ourselves with a treat every now and then!

Broke on
the item came incomplete , missing the battery cover plate, the seller shipped it as soon as i made a complaint.I was hyped to use the machine, i bought a few m&ms put it on the machine and it worked dandy!Next day i decided to get some more candy mmmm... put my hand..nothing came out..., boom. It broke. The light comes up ( sensor ) but the dispenser / motor doesnt even make a sound. My guess is the motor died , i changed the batteries several times and nothing worked, threw it away after a week. Save your money.

Battery chomper
Why didn't I listen to the other reviewers?!? I do like this dispenser, but it eats through batteries. Also, when the sunlight hits just right around 3:00 in the afternoon, it dispenses candy as if there's a hand in front of it, except all over the floor. Although I must admit, my officemates love watching it surprise passers by.
