Just about perfect, the wood looks very nice, and I love the folding doors. Very plain look from the outside which I really like.The inside has a little tray which slides out for offerings or holding long 11' incense. Below that is a storage tray of sorts.It comes with Japanese instructions, but you can easily use Google translate for that.My only gripe with this is that it's just a littleeee too small/not wife enough to hold common 11' long incense sticks in the storage rack unless you cut like an inch off the stick.Besides that, this thing is perfect! Well built, and light as well! It's worth the money.Disclaimer: The light in the picture does not come with it! I bought a sticky light with adhesive and it goes very well with this, I recommend getting one too!

This butsudan is exactly as described by the seller. Product dimensions exactly as described. Sent in original manufacture's box, which is padded on all four sides plus top and bottom. Solidly built with inlaid magnetic stops in the top of the doors that 'click' shut. Recessed hinges on the bi-fold doors that close flush. there is a wooden beam in the top inside that a light can be attached if needed. The measurements are generous and the height is closer to 18", with the doors opened, close to 18". Am very happy and satisfied with my purchase. Negative reviews about this product are simply not true, and you shouldn't worry about buying a substandard butsudan if you decide to buy this model. Also, another review said that their buy delivered in 10 days. Mine came in 11 days after confirmation of shipment even during the Christmas season. (Shipped December 22, arrived January 2).

This butsudan is very nice and arrived quickly from Japan. Both a fine product and a fine seller. While this butsudan is considered "mini" it really is a good size for a home; check out the measurements! If you are looking for a nice home-size butsudan at a reasonable price, this should fit the bill! I know I'm very happy with mine.

I use this shrine when I am practicing meditation. Previously, I just had a platform, so this is a huge step up. I was looking at some other shrines on Etsy, and, while probably nicer, they were significantly more expensive. That's kinda what this was: A pretty solid compromise. The dark walnut color looks nice, but the lighter, cherry-toned one might be more traditional. This fit my space perfectly, and it is the exact perfect size + feature combo for me. I wish that it was more truly solid & assembled with joinery, but that'd cost a fortune. I'm happy.
