Smooth writing and quite beautiful
This is now my go to pen. It glides very nicely on different types of paper. This pen is very well made for the price and lovely to look at. The casing is smooth and easy to the touch also being well balanced. I have tried many fountain pens and so far for the money this is the best for writing. It does have a medium nib but I like it. I highly recommend this pen.

This Is The Second One I Purchased
I first had purchased a Picasso 916 in the green and chrome, and now the black with red. The first green pen, has a slick chrome area where you hold your fingers to write, was too slick and annoying, so put some washi tape on it for grip. The nib on the green looks more like a hidden nib, the black regular. After I used the green for a while I came back to buy the black and red, with the regular nib, because this really is a good pen. I purchased the EF and I can write on plain notebook paper without heavy bleeding. The black is smaller in size than the green and looks to be possibly a #4 or #5 regular nib, not hidden. The black and red is about 5 3/4" long, posted it's 6". The green is a little shorter in length and posting. No matter which Picasso 916 you get, they are both nice to write with.

Worth Far more than the cost
I’m obsessed with fountain pens and there is a huge range in cost. For an everyday, not the college fund pen, this one is very nice. The balance is not as perfect as a $$$$ pen but not a problem. The medium nib is a bit finer than a standard medium but not a fine nib. Perfect for my taste. The ink flows well and even. It glides smoothly over the paper and the grip is very good as it doesn’t make your hand tired to hold on to it. I just ordered a second one and there is probably a third soon for my husband. He is a pen snob but this pen looks elegant with the black matt finish and I’m not going to tell him the cost until he tries using it. I’m sure he will love it.

Haven’t even put ink in it……
Literally just got it out of the box….without question the most satisfying capping of a pen I’ve had, especially for the cost. It just “pops” on. Hopefully it will be just as impressive with the cap off

Punches WAY above it's weight class...
I don't generally write reviews. This pen, however, deserves one.I bought this pen on a whim. I thought I had lost my Lamy Al-Star, and needed a quick replacement. I don't care for any of the current colors on the line of al-stars, so I went out hunting other things. I found this.It is sleek and not overly ostentatious, like 95% of other fountain pens. It is a nice weight, posts well. It comes with the piston reservoir, so you don't have to buy extra parts...And lastly, the writing. The nib on this is, simply, the smoothest, like-butter nib I have used. i generally prefer thin nibs, because I like to ensure the ink dries quickly, and i like the fine lines of a fine nib. I have always understood that there is a bit of a "scratch" factor that comes with this. When you are writing with a needle point, it is ok if it feels a bit like a needle. This pen, however, is INCREDIBLY smooth. It, honestly, feels like writing with a felt tip pen. I can give as little, or as much, pressure as I would like. There is virtually no scratch, and itIn short, this pen is WELL worth the money. I cannot recommend it highly enough. 5/5

BEST pen I own! Great for small hands
I absolutely *love* this pen! I've been dabbling in fountain pens for about two decades now, though recently was when I really got into them and "fell down the rabbit hole" that is the wonderful world of fountain pens and ink. I was searching for my "everyday carry" (EDC) and although I had several pens that were nice (Pilot Metropolitan, Sheaffer Award, Lamy AL-Star), it wasn't until I got this one that I sighed the big happy sigh of relief. This pen is literally everything I could ask for: slim, fantastic soft textured surface, matte black with gorgeous red trim, and writes the smoothest of any pen I've ever used. AND the price is insanely low, to boot!By comparison, for my birthday I bought myself a $90 Cross fountain pen. And then took it back...it just didn't write well. Tried many more; nope. This Picasso 918 I didn't have high hopes for, being only $18, but it was too gorgeous to pass up. Now I want several, just to be sure I always have one on hand.I have zero complaints about this pen. Currently I'm using Waterman Intense Black and it works perfectly. Smooth, no skips, no hard starts, just amazing writing, all the time. I'm attaching samples to demonstrate just how beautifully this pen writes. Also, I have small hands (I wear boys' winter gloves because women's gloves are too big for me) and this pen is just right. My "Goldilocks" pen for sure. I am also big on texture, and this pen's smooth, satiny, velvety finish is just perfect. Last night I couldn't stop playing with it, just turning it in my hands because it felt that good. (For those of us with ASD, that's HUGE!)You really can't go wrong with this pen, unless you have really big hands and this pen might be too small. I use it posted and it's almost like it was custom-made for my hand. It's also lightweight without feeling cheap; easy to carry in my purse without adding bulk or weight. Fabulous!I really can't say enough good things about this pen. Love it!
