Cake Mania: Main Street [Download]

The Burger Shop and the Sushi Shop are loads of fun, and not too difficult.The Cake shop has lots of glitches: you clearly won a level by exceeded the money goal for the day, but for some reason the game says that you didn't, this happens for a lot of the Cake shop levels. Also the `play' button for the Cake shop once in a while is unclickable, so you cannot even begin the next level, it just freezes up.The Flower shop is just way too difficult and takes all the fun out of the game.Also, there is a town money glitch: I had upgraded all my shops, but for some reason the Flower shop wont stay upgraded. It reverts on it's own right back to the first level before upgrading, but yet all my money that I spent on upgrading it is gone. All the other shops stay upgraded, so I don't understand why the Flower Shop doesn't.One thing I am very disappointed about is the blatant reference to the French people. In the game, when upgrading Jill's cake shop, she says: "Ooh la la, Customers Will Think They Are In Less-rude Version Of France".If the game writers had said "Wow, Customers Will Think They Are In A Less-self Centered Version Of America" I bet the gaming public here in the USA would be upset and making complaints. But because this uneducated, derogatory, racist comment is directed at another country it is overlooked and dismissed I guess. I know from first hand experience from actually being in France, that this disgraceful stereotype is completely incorrect and unjustified, and shows the writers to be ignorant.No entire group of people or country should be labeled in such way, it doesn't matter if it's Americans, Canadians, Russians, Germans, Italians, or the French etc.. There are rude people everywhere in the world, that does not mean that the entire population of one country are rude just because some of it's people are. The writers for this game are labeling all the people of an entire country as being bad-mannered and discourteous, when ironically their offensive comment shows them to be the ones who are bad-mannered, discourteous, rude.I wish I could get my money back for this game.

Fun to play if you like to play time management games. Other than the bakery, you can work in the Burger Barn or the Flower Shop or the Sushi Restaurant. Lots of levels so it doesn't get boring. Fairly easy to me but once you are stumped and can not seem to get past a level after many tries, you need to rethink and try something different - maybe sell something and buy something else to move forward - maybe you want faster shoes for Jill so sell the teapot you previously purchased to help buy the shoes (something like that). I think the first time around I was stuck on DAY 19 at the Bakery forever until I rethought things. Anyway, nice to sit down and play when you need a 15 minute break in between running around the house doing chores! There is, however, one glitch in the game that every so often stops the game and suspends all motion for a few seconds. To me this doesn't bother the enjoyment of the game.

I’ve always liked all the Cake Mania games. So I was excited to see that Amazon offered this game. I’ve played some levels and did notice a little bit of glitching. Not sure if that’s from my end or if it was the game itself. But after stopping the game and restarting it worked itself out. It would be cool if Amazon could offer more games.

Need help in receiving game - I'm 67 - no excuses - my career didn't involve computers on my end-

I was really enjoying this Cake Mania, being a fan of all the Cake Mania games. I was moving along and found that this particular one was very challenging. However, when I get to a very difficult level and I would finally reach the goal to move on to the next level, the game would say I failed when I clearly reached the goal!! How frustrating is that? It would take me forever to pass the level and when I finally did, the game still said I could not go on. I purchased this as a download directly to my computer and I don't know if anyone else is having the same problem or if it is just the one I downloaded. It's definitely a fun game, if it would only work correctly!

After finding that I couldn't use my disc for Cake Mania on my new Windows 7 laptop, I decided to see what the newest product was for Cake Mania. I chose to use the Amazon Download, and I LOVE IT!I was instantly addicted, especially since if I get mad in one area of the game (for example, the customers made me mad in the cake area), then I can exit that and go to the Burger Barn or the Flower Shop! I enjoyed seeing the different areas pop up and expanding them as I could in the town.I do recommend a wireless mouse for this game if you use a laptop, because it was impossible for me to keep up with the customers without it.

Great game for those who enjoy the time management genre. The best part is the ability to play between four different shops, upgrading equipment and unlocking recipes, then from those actions upgrading the town itself by unlocking attractions. The games start out very easy then get progressively more manic as you are swamped with customers that steal cash, change orders or are just plain impatient. My 5 year old grandson and 15 year old daughter both enjoy this game, as do I at 52.

I've had a couple of the different Cake Mania titles and enjoyed them all. I find that the game tends to get really tough quick. However, with Main Street, it seems to stay on the easy side longer. It's a good game, but there are a few others I'm enjoying a lot more right now; such as Burger Bustle, Sally's Salon and Jessica's Cupcakes.If you're looking for a truly great time management title, go with Supermarket Mania 2.
