Maquis is a solitaire worker-placement game with variable goals and a play time of approximately twenty minutes. The player places his resistance agents on spaces around town to achieve his goals – blowing up trains, publishing underground newspapers – but at the same time Milice collaborators and Wehrmacht soldiers patrol the area. Remarkably fun game
This is an excellent 1-player game. If you are unfamiliar with one player games, there might be a slight learning curve, but it's certainly not a hard game to learn. And you can always consult the directions if you get confused.Basically, you play a French Resistance cell. There are two major missions per game that you play until your level of turns runs out. The missions are chosen at random from a pile of mission cards. There are a few super hard missions, if you really want a challenge. Some are easy, some are hard. You have to hope spaces and complete the task without getting taken to jail on your return to the safe house.It's surprisingly fun and pretty portable. You get the box, and it looks sort of dinky, but it has a surprisingly addictive replay value. You can always make up some house rules or missions, as you like. I really quite enjoy it. It's a great entry level single player game.

Fun solo only game!
All the components are nice. It was easy to learn. I read the rulebook, then watched part of a playthrough. And i was playing in a short time.

One of the Best Solo Games Out There
It is easy to learn, plays fast, and it's fun. The components are great. There's a ton of replayability. Great lurker worker placement for one with a fun, tense theme. Go for it!

Elegant - Simplicity and theme merged to perfection.
This game is brilliant. Simplicity and theme mergered perfectly.+ High tension from the start.+ Super fast setup.+ Incredibly easy to play.+ Always tense.- Too many objectives require the bomb token, which makes those games feel very similar.

Fun for all and all for one
Ok like everyone who starts a review I am going to say I rarely if ever write one of these but I felt compelled to for this game.First, I have never really like the idea of solo play. As such I have never really played them. This one I took a chance on and I am so glad I did. It is a great little game. Plays in 20-30 minutes easy to learn and a heck of a lot of fun.Do yourself a favor a add this one to your collection. It is great and will keep you off the screen and thinking through it all.Peace.
