I couldn't be more pleased with this storage container. I had also purchased the lid that goes with it. I use it to put my bread dough in for proofing. What I love most is that I am able to see how much the bread has risen because of the markings on the side of the container. When it has the lid it keeps the dough from drying out. The lid fits tight, noticed a difference immediately for how the dough was rising over standard store Tupperware. A basic dough recipie from the five minutes a day bread book fills the container about halfway when it rises. That is a recipie made with 6 1/2 cups of flour and a couple of hours rising. The plastic is heavy duty, cleans well and hasn't scratched. The lid needs to be bought separately. Fits easily in a normal fridge.

This is a tall bucket with marking for quarts or liters on the side. It's marked as food-safe plastic. You use it for letting your bread dough rise instead of in a bowl--useful when you have a sour fermentation or if your dog has destroyed all your bread bowls (mine knocked each one to the floor when empty, and she's the GOOD dog.) This plastic bucket comes with an optional lid and i did order it because you can put the lid on your dough bucket instead of covering with a towel.The marks on the side are handy because when the recipe says "let rise until double" you can figure that by looking at the marks. Under-risen dough is heavy, over-risen dough sometimes has a funny taste and it won't have oven spring when you make your loaves because the yeast got exhausted during the first rise.This bucket holds my usual two loaves, but looks large enough for a batch of at least four to six loaves.

The container is great. We use it all the time for making bread. It is very large and needs the right storage space (but that should be expected) it does not come with a lid. We bought a lid that appeared to correspond with the container but it did not. It took three attempts to get the right lid. More product information would have been helpful.

I have been baking bread using the New Artisan Bread in Five Minutes Book and just putting the dough in one of my glass bowls until needed. I always had some difficulty determining when the dough had risen enough in my bowl. This storage bucket was a good price, so I decided to get it since there was a similar one recommended in New Artisan Bread in Five Minutes Book. Wow! This takes all the guess work out of checking the dough rise. I heartily recommend this. I didn't worry about a lid, since the dough really needs to breathe. The lid from one of my large pots sits on top and works well since it doesn't make an air tight seal. I only wish I had bought this sooner.

Love this container for my "Artisan in 5 Minutes" bread dough starter. Made of high quality, heavy duty plastic. Lid snaps on tightly [sold separately]. Cleans well/quickly. Fits in fridge well on bottom shelf next to gallon milk jug. Good price. I will buy other sizes when needed.

After purchasing the "Artisan Bread in 5 Minutes a Day" book, I needed a container to store my prepared dough. I couldn't bring myself to spend the $30+ to purchase the best selling 2-pack of Cambro 6qt square containers on Amazon, so I was very pleased to find these at a MUCH more reasonable price! Lids are sold separately, but even with purchasing both this container and matching lid, the price is much less than that of the other Cambro product.Love that these are dishwasher safe and BPA free. They seem very sturdy!
