I have used several different hair twist sponges and this one is the best by far. What makes it great is the size of the holes. Many of the other sponges have holes that are either too small (making it difficult to twist hair that is longer than a couple of inches), or too large (making it useless for very short hair). My hair has grown several inches since I purchased this sponge and it still works great. Of course, as the hair gets longer, the results are not quite the same, but you can still get some really cool textures it you are willing to put in a little extra time. I would say this sponge can style hair that is up to 6 or 7 inches long, provided you are not looking for full twist down to the root. If you want full twist, you either need to keep the hair under 4 inches, or use the sponge to start dreads. I do not want permanent dread locks so I comb my hair out every few days or so. This sponge can give you a variety of different looks, depending on the length of your hair. I would also like to say that I paid full price for this product and my review is based solely on my satisfaction with how this product's performance. It works great and it is competitively priced. If you are looking to start dread locks or texture your natural afro, I highly recommend this product.

Jury is still out on this product. I did a test on a small section of my hair and it didn't do what I expected. BUT, I'm going to give it another try. One thing I didn't expect was the stiffness of the hair sponge.

I really like this product. I thought the holes would be to small but it worked out. I had a cheaper version I bought from the local beauty supply store that started peeling. I hope this one doesn't do that. It's a bit pricey, not sure if I would buy again because of price. But if it doesn't peel and last a long time, it would be worth re-purchasing. I we u old like one with slightly larger holes though. Overall good product.

Perfect no complaints. Easy to use. The only problem is that one has to be mindful of the direction when using the brush.

This was my first time trying an Afro brush and I have really grown to like it. When I first tried it, I didn't have great results because my hair wasn't wet enough. This sponge enhances natural curl pattern which is shown best with wet/moisturized hair. I also learned to always use the sponge in a circular motion in the same direction so as not to undo the curls. The more circular motion the more the curls are enhanced. I also had better results after I cut ends. This product works better for shorter and less damaged hair. I was given this product at a discounted rate in exchange for my honest review.

I think this product likely works well with finger-tip length hair. My hair is mid-neck length and very think. I used it thinking it would create nice twists but it didnt do anything. I'll pass this along to my friends with shorter hair to try.

This is an excellent product. My 8 and 9 year old grandsons kept asking for this type product. I am a senior citizen and thought to myself, what the heck do I know anything about this stuff, especially how to use it. To my amazement, grandpa scored major points and the kids think that I am the coolest grandfather ever (told you I was old, I still use the word cool). GREAT PRODUCT, very easy to use...who knows, I just might try it on my hair, what little there is...LOL

According to the product description and the glowing customer comments read, I chose this dread sponge hands down. After purchasing this item, more comments were posted that declared this item as great, but not for longer hair. I immediately initiated cancelling my order. I reconsidered my decision and I'm glad I did. It does take quite a bit of work, but longer hair can be coiled. By-the-bye, the customer service was excellent. They promptly and courteously answered my request for a cancellation (during my thought process). Sometimes it's best to reconsider a decision.
