Honest non professional review.
Have it for a few months now.Would actually give it 3.5 stars!Bad news first :1. Not razor sharp out of box.2. Handle sitting slightly proud, but not annoying.3. Not easy to sharpen.Now the good news :1. Not easy to sharpen :) Why is that a good news? Well, hard steel, holds edge well!2. Like the shape of the blade.3. My to go choice now

Good knife, well priced.
Everything you'd expect from a decent Sabatier. Bought to replace a 20 year old (and well worn) Sabatier Lion, I wasn't disappointed.Slightly heavier than its predecessor, but that's actually a good thing.Perfectly balanced with a comfortably ergonomic handle; what's not to love?!And, with a 25 year guarantee, these (see the other two reviews) could well be the last set of knives I buy!

Just. Arrived this morning but can pass on my initial views. I love my Sabbatier knives I bought over 25 years ago but due to loss or theft only have one remaining. I ordered this knife and was hoping for similar quality to my existing knives and was pleasantly surprised to be impressed on first inspection.The heft and balance is exceptional. The appearance is beyond expectation and love the attention to detail. Value for money wise it should get a 6* rating.Now if it lasts as long as my other Sabbatier knives it will outlive me!!

Wonderful weight and keen blade
This knife arrived in good time and it was sensibly packaged. It is a very comfortable weight and an easy handle to use, the blade is keen and all in all I am very pleased with this purchase.

Surprisingly poor from Taylor’s
I have some fantastic Taylor’s eye witness knives from this range including their carving set but this knife falls well short.The decal on the blade is on the skew and more importantly there is a large chunk of unremovable stuff where the blade meets the handle ( see picture ). I have scratched the blade finish trying soak and remove this.Not up to Taylor’s usual standards :-(
