Wonderful scissors
Product arrived neatly and securely packed, with protective plastic at the tip as well as in a sleeve of plastic. The scissors are quite sharp. Easy to handle and perfect for reaching into the interior branches. Great value for a quality product.

Nice and smooth
I use these shears for multiple reasons. Fine twig shaping, development post flush pruning and never fails. It’s super sharp and holds the edge for a long time, plus it fits a smaller hand perfectly.

Fantastic Bonsai Shears!
These are great shears for the price, and having been made in Japan! They have a strong screw at the joint between the two blades, which mean that these shears are strong and will cut through some thick branches. The only down side is that if you work with smaller trees, they might be too big to be precise enough. These shears are intended for medium to larger-sized bonsai. If you have smaller trees, I recommend their Satsuki shears which do that job just fine. They are also carbon steel, which I prefer over stainless steel, however, this means you will need to clean it and sharpen it more often. I like to use camellia oil when they start to show signs of rust and wear, then treat them with Sabitoru rust erasers (both which are readily available on amazon!). For sharpening, use a small Okatsune whetstone, which only requires water, but after treatment with oil. While this may all sound tedious, it is well worth it for quality and long lasting shears, with only the best from Japan! I wish you all the best in your bonsai adventures!

High quality, well made garden shears
I've been using these for over 4 weeks now (to trim a small tree project) and I've not yet had an instance of regret with them. They cut cleanly (razor sharp from the factory), are comfortable to use and solidly built. These look like they can last a very long time before going dull, and shouldn't be too difficult to sharpen. They even have a bit of slack built in (shear tips cross each other a bit to account for future metal removal during sharpening) for that very purpose. My only caveat is that this is a forged, high carbon steel tool that will definitely rust if not coated after each use. If you use this tool enough to justify your time in caring for it, this is a wonderful choice. However, if this is only for casual use on very small projects, you'd probably benefit from a stainless version. Stainless (given that most companies use 440 A) will take far less of a beating than these will, but should hold up to light use just fine.

All you need
If I had to choose one pair of bonsai scissors this would be the one. I bought some cheaper ones thinking I was getting a great deal but with these kind of tools, you get what you pay for. Great pair of scissors.

Slightly loose pin, susceptible to rust
They’re comfortable and sharp. You should make sure they’re thoroughly dried after use, as this steel is susceptible to rust. A little bit of surface rust is easily scrubbed off. The center pin has become quite loose after a small amount of use, which detracts from the otherwise premium feel, but doesn’t meaningfully impact usability.

Great quality scissors
So far I'm really enjoying these scissors. They're sharp, and the small size blade makes them perfect for detailed work in tight or confined spaces.
