The two pound was perfect (for me)
After reading the comment on the one pound and two pound Mallets, I knew which one I thought I needed. The two pound was perfect (for me). Nicely crafted. I've even given it some personality with a few good hits. (non-pro jewlery maker).

Bad quality
This mallet broke after just a few uses. I was using it for jewelry making -- specifically using it with a metal disc cutter -- 24 gauge sheet metal. The joint where the mallet head and the handle meet is not hefty enough to handle the force, and broke right off. Do not buy this product. It will break, and you will be out money. Unfortunately, this has been used, so I cannot return it.
