Taylor 9 sec stainless mechanical timer - how long does it last before failing? More than 6 mos?

NOPE!... iI HAD TWO.... or maybe you'll be lucky. I had received one as a gift and it lasted a couple months. I bought another one to cover the fact the first one was a dud and the replacement didn't last either. One dud still sits on my counter to be seen (gift) but i use cheap-o Walmart white windups (about 3 bucks).... one in a kitchen drawer (stashed out of sight) and one in my office for various time reminders. They last long enough to keep me happy or until i drop them. I wasn't impressed with battery timers either, but now my microwave has a timer....BUT, i still use the cheap-o wind-ups a lot and can move them to where i need them. The TAYLOR STAINLESS LOOKS GREAT.... IT'S A POS.....IMHO and experience!

I just shipped in the normal way, like most other things. In a box with padding. It arrived in good condition. I hope I'm answering your question.

Are the dimensions really 1"X1"X1"?

It is 1" high in the front, it is 2" high in the back. The face of the timer is round, about 3" in diameter. It sets on a rubber pad, is round on the base, about 3 3/4" in diameter, with 4 small rubber feet. This timer is VASTLY SUPERIOR to the kitchen timer I bought from Walmart , that failed less than one year after purchase.
