Goat Health: A Guide for General Care and Emergencies

So I really wanted to love this book. I was hoping to have a book to recommend to my customers as I don’t have time to put everything into one myself. A lot of the dosages are incorrect and truly I’m not sure that should be in a book not written by a vet. Also there were things missing, like how important it is to not put water in a bottle for bottle babies and that pink eye can be chlamydia, in fact there’s really nothing on abortions in the book at all, among other things. Also no page numbers so it’s rather pointless to have an index. I do thank there’s a lot of great information and I feel like this book will be helpful. But I’m not sure it’s the best guide for newbies. Maybe a better guide for those who have had goats for a spell and fell comfortable diagnosing and treating.

This book is well designed for goat owners to prepare ahead of time and cope during emergency situations with goats. Large type, written in clear, concise terms without being wordy, perfect for times where, in your rush to save your animal's life, you don't have to try to remember everything or skim through a lot of words to get to exactly what you need to do. Highly recommend this book for every goat owner.

This book has everything! I love having it ready when needed and not having to go online and wait for advice, etc... since my cell service is spotty out in the country, I keep this in the barn with my emergency kit. If you own goats you NEED this book! Thank you Catherine for writing it!

Gave this book to my daughter for Christmas. She has had a lot of goat deaths this year. She said it was full of remedies and good wisdom she is now following, so hopefully, there will be fewer problems this year.

Bought this for my parents who is always asking me to look up info on goat health and this has been a big help for them. Written so that they understand.

This is a wonderful reference book for all of your goat questions and needs. From nutrition to medical emergencies, this author has apparently experienced it all. Love the references to dosage amounts on meds, and even homeopathic ways to treat your goats! Enjoy! Cute pix as wel!
