Easy Installation - Lasts a REALLY long time!
I have an 8 foot sliding glass door that's been in place for 62 years. When the rollers finally collapsed some years ago, we installed this solution. It worked great! Over the years, I have cleaned the runners and re-glued the strips. After about 5 years, the wedge that is installed in the front of the door finally broke. I ordered another kit, cleaned the runners that were already installed (going on 10 years now!) and put the new wedge on the front of the door. It's still going strong! This product saved me at least a thousand dollars by not having to replace the door. I am beyond happy and grateful for this product.

works great
simple to put in, my door would be hard to screw the "L" bracket that goes on each corner of the door into the frame, so i used double sided tape to hold it on the side of the door, strong, and i worked nicely, so far so good,

Brilliant idea!
Install it like they clearly spell out (and show on youtube) - we thought it best to remove the door because we wanted to make sure the track was clean and well adhered to. I still chuckle a few weeks later what a great solution it is. Is it like a brand new door? No. Is it an ingenious solution to getting a badly maintained old door sliding smoothly again? Yes.Ours was so bad that the super heavy door had ground bumpy sections of the track to a height flush with the new runners. Therefore the door front can pop off the runners at the flush section if you mostly push hard on the glass to get force to move the door instead of using the handles - but that's NOT the product's problem, it's a we-waited-too-long to maintain the door problem. It's skiddy material that lets you slide a door designed to slide once again. You either screwed up or your door works again. It's just not that complicated.

Pass
Went on easy enough, followed all instructions exactly. I keep it clean but unless I am constantly soaking it with lubrication, it gets harder and harder to use. Should have just replaced it the right way the first time. This is not a long lasting fix. Bandaid for a broken leg.

Not as good as expected
Unfortunately this item didn't work as expected. We had an older metal glass sliding door that was needing help, so I searched around and saw this product. I thought for the price it might be a quick fix instead of having to replace the door. After following the instructions I noticed that the "feet" on the bottom kept coming off when sliding the door. This was mainly due to the screws not being long enough, so I brought some 2" screws in and reattached both ends with longer screws. which worked for a bit. The next issue is cleaning the strips, since they are a flat material that are consistently being exposed to the outdoors, small bits of dirt and debris would build up rather quickly which would prevent the door from easily sliding.

Seller made it right
I recently wrote a review because I was unhappy with the product. The seller contacted me and will give me a refund. I am very happy with the outcome.

These were a good temporary fix
OMG!!! I have tried 3 of the aluminum repair rails in the past. I am unable to remove my patio door so the rails had to be installed in two sections. These were a good temporary fix, but they did not last. I was skeptical about all the reviews I read about the Sliding Glass Patio Door Repair Kit. But the price was right and I figured I'd give it a shot. I installed in less than an hour and now my patio door slides smoother and easier than when it was new. One thing about the instructions says to lubricate the track but offers no suggestions. I used WD-40. I was amazed at how well the patio door slid without the lubrication. Now that the track is lubricated, it's borderline scary. My patio door is 96" high. Quite heavy. My fear is opening or closing it too fast and having it take out the door jambs. I simply love this repair kit and do recommend it to anyone whose track is damaged beyond repair. Of all the products I've purchased on Amazon, this is the first one that I have written a review on before being asked to. Simply amazing!

This product worked as advertised. As consumers we may not have followed all the instructions. So we ordered another one.Worked well but lacked the needed durability as this may have user error, I will let you know how we did.Jw
